Rafael Nadal's sister Maribel delightedly cheers him and Carlos Alcaraz on as they reach men's doubles QF at Paris Olympics

Rafael Nadal's sister Maribel voiced her support on social media for him and his partner Carlos Alcaraz after they advanced to the men's doubles quarterfinals at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Nadal is playing in his fourth and final Olympics, while Alcaraz made his debut in this year's Games.

The Spanish pair began their doubles campaign by defeating the sixth-seeded Argentine team of Maximo Gonzalez and Andres Molteni with a score of 7-6(4), 6-4 in the opening round. They most recently overcame the Dutch duo of Tallon Griekspoor and Wesley Koolhof 6-4, 6-7(2), 10-2 in two hours and 24 minutes to secure their place in the quarterfinals,

In the last eight, Nadal and Alcaraz will go up against the fourth-seeded American team of Austin Krajicek and Rajeev Ram, who secured their spot in the quarterfinals by defeating the Brazilian pair of Thiago Monteiro and Thiago Seyboth Wild 6-4, 7-6(3) in the second round.

Following their victory in the second round, Alcaraz took to social media to share a series of photos of himself and Nadal from their match, including the winning moment:

"Who wants some more of Nadalcaraz? 🤪 LET'S GOOOOO!!!!! 💪🏻 🇪🇸 ," Alcaraz captioned his Instagram post.

Reacting to Alcaraz's post, the 22-time Grand Slam champion's sister Maribel took to social media to celebrate the Spanish duo's success in reaching the quarterfinals of the men's doubles event at the Paris Olympics.

"Vamooosssss 😍 🤩 🔥 💪🏻 ," Maribel commented.

Rafael Nadal: “Carlos Alcaraz is a brilliant player all-round, his fitness sets him apart”

Speaking about his doubles partner Carlos Alcaraz, Rafael Nadal stated that the World No.3 is a player with strengths in many facets, adding that what sets him apart from the other players is his fitness:

“Carlos is a brilliant player all-round. His fitness sets him apart: when you reach the ball in good time and with power, because you move quickly, it allows the talent in your hand to shine much more,” he said [via ATPTour.com].

The Spaniard said he thinks that Alcaraz is destined to be one of the all-time greats" of the game:

“It doesn’t surprise me at all because I know him and I’ve seen him play. I think he’s a player destined to be one of the all-time greats. That’s what I sense when I see him play. You don’t know what will happen in life, but in terms of tennis and talent he has everything he needs to stay at the top,” he added.

In the men's singles competition at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Alcaraz has reached the third round. Meanwhile, Nadal's singles campaign ended after he fell to Novak Djokovic in the second round.
