Jack Sock has revealed that he is considering a potential return to pro tennis in 2025. The American, who transitioned to pickleball two years ago, recently propositioned former player-turned-tournament director James Blake for a wildcard entry into the men's doubles competition at the next edition of the Miami Open.

Sock retired from tennis after the 2023 US Open, capping off a 12-year-long successful career that saw him achieve significant success. The former World No. 8 was signed onto the PPA Tour soon afterward.

Earlier this week, Jack Sock revealed on the 'Nothing Major' podcast that he wanted to vie for the doubles title in Miami partnering Nick Kyrgios, thereby hinting at a potential return to tennis. The American propositioned his possible inclusion at the ATP Masters 1000 tournament to James Blake, who has served as the tournament director of the Florida-based event since 2018.

"I have a competing player question. Nick Kyrgios and myself might be asking for a wildcard into doubles of your event (Miami Open) here in a few months," Jack Sock said to James Blake on the Nothing Major podcast.

Blake, on his part, was positively inclined towards Sock taking a wildcard entry into the men's doubles competition at the Miami Open next year, as he and Kyrgios would likely be a big draw for the tournament.

"Well, I can always give the diplomatic answer. It will be considered," the Miami Open tournament director said. "You guys, I think, have a pretty good chance! You guys could sell some tickets." (at 0:17)

Jack Sock began his pro-tennis career in 2011. The American won four titles in singles and 17 in doubles, including a singles triumph at the 2017 Paris Masters and three Major title victories teaming up with doubles legend Mike Bryan and Canadian Vasek Pospisil.

Sock won his maiden Major title with Pospisil at 2014 Wimbledon. Four years later, he replaced the injured Bob Bryan as Mike Bryan's partner to reign victorious at Wimbledon and the US Open. He also won the doubles title at the 2018 ATP Tour Finals partnering Bryan and secured gold in mixed doubles with Bethanie Mattek-Sands at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

While Sock enjoyed more success in doubles, he had his fair share of exploits in singles. He finished as No. 8 in the singles ATP rankings against all odds in 2017 on the back of a Masters-level title in Paris-Bercy and a last-four run at the ATP Finals in London.
