Fans believe Roger Federer and 18-year-old Henry Bernet share more than just Swiss nationality and a junior Grand Slam singles title. Many have pointed out striking similarities, with some claiming Bernet even "sounds" and "looks" like the tennis legend.

Bernet made history on Saturday, January 25, by becoming the first Swiss player to win the boys' singles title at the Australian Open. Notably, Roger Federer claimed his junior Grand Slam title at Wimbledon in 1998. He also reached the US Open final that year but fell to Argentina's David Nalbandian.

Adding to the significance of the moment, Bernet secured the title on his 18th birthday. In a heartwarming gesture, the young champion was surprised with a birthday cake during his press conference, receiving applause from those in attendance.

A video of him cutting the cake and answering questions at the press conference was posted on X. Many fans commented drawing parallels between the teenager and the 43-year-old Swiss icon.

"Roger 2.0 is here.. 😊" one fan wrote.
"Blimey, he even looks and talks like Roger. It's uncanny," another fan wrote.
"Weirded tf out what do you mean that’s not just roger back when he was bleaching his hair," a third fan wrote.

Here are some more reactions from fans noting how Henry Bernet reminds them of a young Roger Federer.

"Is it just me or does he look like a young Roger??!" one fan asked.
"His voice is definitely like Roger," another fan wrote.
"Not only is he a swiss with a one-handed backhand but pretty much sounds like roger!!" yet another fan wrote.

During his press conference, after winning the Australian Open boys' singles title by defeating American Benjamin Willwerth 6-3, 6-4, Henry Bernet was asked if he expected a call from the tennis legend. He responded:

"I really don't know, I mean, I would love to talk to him again, but he's anyway busy, and, I would love to have a chat with him, but, I'm not expecting one now."

Bernet, also sponsored by Federer-backed On, became the sixth boy from his country to win a junior Grand Slam singles title. He joined the likes of Federer and Stan Wawrinka (French Open in 2003).
