Roger Federer's long-time agent Tony Godsick's son Nicholas has led his team Stanford Cardinals to the Pac-12 Tournament championship final for the first time since 2015.

Tony Godsick, who used to work for the global sports company International Management Group (IMG), has been working with Federer since 2005. This partnership eventually led to the creation of their management organization, ‘Team8’, in 2013.

The No. 20 Stanford men’s team faced off against No. 23 Arizona State, emerging victorious with a score of 5-1. Despite the Sun Devils claiming the doubles point with wins on courts one and three, the Cardinal rallied from behind.

Stanford’s strong singles performance continued in the first sets, as the Cardinal took all three while dropping only 14 combined games. Nico Godsick triumphed over his opposition, contributing to the final points on courts four and five.

This victory has propelled the Stanford Cardinals into the Pac-12 Tournament championship for the first time since 2015. They will face either the No. 11 Arizona or Oregon in the championship match on April 27.

Nico Godsick, son of former World No. 4 Mary Joe Fernandez, shared a reel on his Instagram account sharing the accomplishment.

The Stanford freshman is currently ranked 1254 on the ATP tour with his career highest rank being No. 1193.

The Swiss chose the Laver Cup as the stage for his final match, marking the end of an illustrious career that spanned over two decades.

Federer’s last match was a doubles encounter, where he partnered with his long-time friend and on-court rival, Rafael Nadal. They faced off against Team World’s Jack Sock and Frances Tiafoe.

The match was a rollercoaster ride, with Federer and Nadal taking the first set 6-4. However, Sock and Tiafoe fought back to win the second set in a tiebreak 7-6 (2). The match went into a deciding tiebreak, which saw Federer and Nadal eventually lose 11-9.

Taking to Instagram, Godsick shared a series of photographs capturing moments with the 20-time Grand Slam champion throughout their journey, accompanied by a heartfelt message.

"To the reason I serve and volley on second serves down break point —Love you pal," Godsick captioned his post.
