The Wimbledon Championships has released the official draws for the 2024 edition set to unfold Monday, July 1 onwards with Jannik Sinner spearheading the men's singles draw as the first seed, followed by Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz. Sinner has secured the top seeding on the back of his World No. 1 ranking that he secured by overtaking Djokovic during the recently concluded French Open.

The Italian will kickstart his campaign in London against Germany's Yannick Hanfmann on Monday. He's one of the favorites at the event but the path to his maiden Wimbledon trophy is a long one with tough challengers aplenty.

If Sinner manages to go past Hanfmann in his opener, he will face either Marton Fucsovics or 2021 runner-up Matteo Berrettini in the second round.

His next potential opponents will be Tallon Griekspoor/Miomir Kecmanovic (third round), Ben Shelton/Nicolas Jarry (fourth round), Daniil Medvedev/Grigor Dimitrov/Adrian Mannarino (quarterfinals), Carlos Alcaraz/Casper Ruud (semifinals) and Novak Djokovic/Alexander Zverev (final).

Fans on X were not particularly happy about the World No. 1's draw with the majority declaring the arrangement unfair.

"Tough. Honestly what benefits does being world number 1 have? Same happened to Nole [Novak Djokovic]. Having Berrettini in R2 of Wimbledon is just criminal," a fan wrote.
"Couldn't be any harder. Such a joke, what is the point in being number 1, when you get the hardest draw," another echoed.

Here are a few more reactions:

"Grand slams allergic to giving us the sincaraz final we deserve," a fan stated.
"Generational talent and the best player on the planet Jannik Sinner gets the hardest draw at Wimbledon ever. The establishment always gives Jannik difficult draws in the Slams, but one thing I know that you can’t doubt his tennis skill and his AURA," this fan commented.
"The most insane draw ever ????? the rest are a cakewalk draw... who is letting the British get away w this s**t," one fan posted.
"Damn dis looks tuff... Berrettini in 2nd round and Griekspoor in 3rd (if they win) is tuff," one claimed.

Sinner entered the main draw as the eighth seed and downed the likes of Juan Manuel Cerundolo, Diego Schwartzman, Quentin Halys, Daniel Elahi Galan and Roman Safiullin to be among the last four men standing.

Djokovic didn't allow Sinner even a sniff at the victory in their semifinal showdown as he hit 11 aces, remained unbroken, and converted two break points to close the match at 6-3, 6-4, 7-6(4). The two won't clash this year any sooner than the final as they lead the opposite halves of the draw.

Jannik Sinner comes into the Wimbledon draw with boosted morale on the back of a title-winning performance at the Terra Wortmann Open. This is going to be the Italian's fourth main draw appearance at the London Major.
