"Save me some!" - Serena Williams and Frances Tiafoe react to Taylor Fritz's repeated visits to restaurant during Italian Open

Serena Williams and Frances Tiafoe reacted to Taylor Fritz's repeated visits to the same restaurant in Rome. The 26-year-old American dined at the renowned Italian restaurant Taverna Trilussa while competing at the 2024 Italian Open.

Taylor Fritz achieved his best performance at the Italian Open by reaching the quarterfinals, before being eliminated by Alexander Zverev on Wednesday with a score of 6-4, 6-3. Before his defeat, he secured victories against Fabio Fognini, Sebastian Korda, and Grigor Dimitrov.

On Thursday, Fritz posted photos on his Instagram feed that featured him dining at Taverna Trilussca. Notably, all the pictures captured him sitting in the same spot, facing the same direction. His girlfriend, Morgan Riddle, previously exposed this routine on her Instagram story. In a playful tone, she revealed that Fritz's superstition compels them to dine at the same restaurant and table every night.

A few hours after Fritz's post, 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams and World No. 25 Frances Tiafoe reacted to his restaurant loyalty. Williams commented that the restaurant is her favorite place and joked about wanting some and Tiafoe remarked that it was a 'players lounge'.

“That's my fav place!!! Save me some!” Serena Williams wrote.

Before her retirement in 2022, Williams clinched four Italian Open titles, with her last victory coming in 2016 when she defeated her compatriot Madison Keys in the final.

Aside from her success on the tennis court in Rome, the tennis icon also has a special connection to the city as that was where she met her husband, Alexis Ohanian, in 2015 while competing at the Italian Open.

Back in 2022, Serena Williams was a guest on "The Drew Barrymore Show" and narrated how she met Ohanian at a restaurant in the hotel where they were staying. He sat next to the table where she was seated with her friends. She explained that they tried to get rid of him, but he remained.

“So we were at this restaurant and, it was at the hotel we were staying at and I was in Italy and this guy shows up and the whole place is empty and this guy, like, really tall, he comes with his computer and he, like, plops down right next to us and he opens his computer and he starts typing, and I’m just like, why? I was so angry. I was like, why is this guy here? And so we tried to get rid of him,” Williams said.

The couple got engaged in 2016 and married in 2017. They have two daughters: Olympia, who was born in 2017, and Adira River, who was born in 2023.
