Martina Navratilova recently expressed her concern over the case of a 12-year-old girl who was accused by police of presenting falsehoods about being sexually assaulted. Navratilova also wondered if the people involved in accusing the girl were still in their jobs.

The case dates back to 2016 when 12-year-old Taylor Cadle revealed to a Polk County Sheriff's Office detective that Henry Cadle, her adoptive father, had been sexually assaulting her for years. However, later, instead of taking action against the adoptive father, the detective came face-to-face with him and told him that the youngster had conjured up the allegations and that there was no truth to them.

Frustrated by the police's inaction, Taylor Cadle eventually started recording the abuse that she experienced. An in-depth article about the case was recently surfaced by an X (formerly Twitter) user, who captioned the post:

"Police in Florida accused a 12-year-old of lying about sexual assault. She was sentenced to 1 year of community service, and had to write apology letters to her abuser and to a cop, so she took matters into her own hands and recorded the abuse. This is so infuriating."

Martina Navratilova, a former World No. 1 in women's singles and doubles tennis, soon caught wind of the post and reacted to the case. Navratilova's reaction was one of concern, with the tennis legend also expressing curiosity over the fate of the detective who dismissed Taylor Cadle's accounts as lies.

"Scary. And everyone still has a job…???" Martina Navratilova wrote.

Recently, Navratilova aired her frustrations at the police over the controversial Tyrone McAlpin incident.

In August this year, two Phoenix officers arrested Tyrone McAlpin, a deaf Black man also diagnosed with cerebral palsy, after he was accused of assault. The manner of McAlpin's arrest, which was captured on CCTV, proved to be controversial. The captured video showed that the two officers who made the arrest repeatedly punched and tased McAlpin.

Later, the man alleged that he had tried his best to let the officers know about his condition. Recently, McAlpin decided to file a $3.5 million notice of claim against the officers and also the city of Phoenix. In light of these developments, Martina Navratilova took to X and blatantly criticized the police.

"Thugs with a badge. And not just a few rotten apples," Navratilova wrote.

Navratilova had been outspoken about the police's behavior in the aftermath of football star Tyreek Hill's arrest as well.
