Sebastian Korda's 2025 Australian Open campaign ended early after the American suffered a disappointing loss to World No. 68 Aleksandar Vukic in the second round. In the aftermath of Korda's defeat to Vukic, several fans ridiculed the American's display and suggested that such performances from him have become commonplace.

Korda got off to a winning start at the 2025 Australian Open. The former World No. 15 clinched his first-round match against Lukas Klein in four sets to set up a second-round encounter against home hope Vukic. The Australian won the first set 6-4 but lost the next two 3-6, 2-6, putting the American in a commanding position. However, sloppy tennis from Korda allowed Vukic to storm back into the contest and clinch the next two sets 6-3, 7-5.

Jose Morgado tweeted the update:

Most tennis fans on X (formerly Twitter) were far from impressed with Sebastian Korda's showing in Melbourne Park's Show Court Arena.

"Yeah, Korda is done. Horrendous loss," one said.
"Has anyone come to think… or realize that…. Korda is just not that f**king good? It’s not a mystery or coincidence why he can’t get past second rounds in majors for like years now," another commented.
"An all too familiar Slam exit for Korda after another positive week leading into it. In control throughout most of the match, then tightens up with the finish line in sight & allows his opponent to build momentum. Doesn’t really have much to fall back on once he loses his rhythm," a third fan wrote.

Here are some other reactions from fans critical of Korda following his second-round exit from the 2025 Australian Open.

"I think everyone that watches tennis knows Korda is an all time choker. He does this every 2 months," a fan said.
"Korda moves like a 90s-gen player; there is no resilience in him; he loses to anyone. A 2000-gen player consistently displaying the traits of the flop 90s gen. Korda is soft for this spot, no dog in him," another added.

In a sarcastic reply, one referred to a bold claim made by the American ahead of Wimbledon 2023.

"Korda is still the favourite for Wimbledon though," they wrote.

Korda's best finish at a Major, interestingly, came at the 2023 Australian Open, where he reached the quarterfinals. However, his quarterfinal outing against Karen Khachanov was ultimately marred by an injury that required the American to retire mid-match.

Sebastian Korda lost the first two sets of his 2023 Australian Open quarterfinal clash against Karen Khachanov. The American trailed the Russian 0-3 in the third set when he decided to retire from the contest citing an unfortunate injury. Later, at a press conference, Korda revealed that his pain at certain moments during the match was so much that it prevented him from holding his racket properly.

"I have never had any wrist issues before. I knew kind of what it was right away, right when I hit the return. I kind of felt that spot that I was feeling before. Some forehands I couldn’t even hold the racquet. Volleying was almost impossible for me, so it was a little tough," Sebastian Korda said.

At last year's Australian Open, the American suffered a third-round exit after a straight-sets loss to Andrey Rublev. Korda's greatest success on the ATP Tour came at the 2024 Citi Open, where he won the title to mark his first taste of success at the ATP 500 level.
