Jessica Pegula defeated Karolina Muchova in the semifinals of the 2024 US Open. Fans reacted to the American's father and billionaire, Terry Pegula attending the match and watching her daughter reach her maiden Grand Slam final.
The World No. 6 didn't start with a strong set, however, mounted a strong comeback in the second and third sets to oust Muchova 1-6, 6-4, 6-2.
Pegula will face now Aryna Sabalenka, who defeated Emma Navarro 6-3,7-6(2) to make it to her second consecutive US Open final.

Pegula faced World No. 1 Iga Swiatek in the quarterfinals, defeating the Pole 6-2, 6-4. With this win, Pegula broke her streak of losing six Grand Slam quarterfinal matches in her career to advance to her maiden Grand Slam semifinal.
During the post-match conference, she heaved a sigh of relief and jokingly remarked that the media wouldn't ask her questions about not making it to the semifinals of a Major.
"I'm so happy that you guys cannot ask me about making it to the semis. It wasn't even a me thing, it was more like people asking me. I'm really happy to make it through to the semi-finals," she said.
Jessica Pegula will face Aryna Sabalenka in the 2024 US Open finals on September 8, 2024. The two have faced each other seven times on tour, with the Belarusian leading their head-to-head 5-2.
