Serena Williams' husband, Alexis Ohanian, recently indulged in a nostalgic moment as he shared glimpses of his Marvel comics collection. The 41-year-old also expressed heartfelt gratitude to his parents for preserving the collection, calling them the "real MVPs."
The Reddit co-founder is fond of collecting rare and antique items, including sculptures, vintage games, and more. Ohanian recently showcased his vintage Spider-Man game cartridges for the Game Boy Color on his Instagram story. He later shared an immaculate edition of the 1992 comic X-Men: X-Cutioner’s Song on X (formerly Twitter). In another post, he showcased Sega's 16-bit console featuring the Game Genie.
"You had to be there. Thankfully my mom & dad saved these and most of these comics from my childhood actually graded pretty well considering I read the hell out of them," he wrote.
A fan later appreciated Ohanian's parents for saving these iconic comics.
"It’s so cool that your parents saved those comics," the fan wrote.
Ohanian agreed with the fan, calling his parents the real MVP.
"They're the real MVPs," Ohanian replied.
Earlier this year, Serena Williams' husband had given a sneak peek into his antiques which included a Marvel-themed sculpture, as well as memorabilia from his NWSL team.
Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian gave a peek into his most valuable collectibles
In an interview with a collector community page On Mantel in February, Alexis Ohanian shared that he has been collecting memorabilia since childhood. He displayed various collectibles, including a soccer ball from the inaugural NWSL season of his team, Angel City FC, as well as a rookie card of his wife, Serena Williams.
"I have been collecting things since I was a kid. This is a soccer ball from the inaugural season of my team, Angel City FC. This is one of the best Serena Williams rookie cards ever. In fact, I think it is legitimately the best one. There's a grated copy of NES Play Action Football, which was the first video game I ever got. I played the hell out of it; I didn't even have an NFL license. But didn't matter," Ohanian said.
He then highlighted his prized possession: a life-size Iron Man Mark 85 sculpture, a tribute to the famous Marvel character Tony Stark.
And I was gifted this magic card, it's not real, but it was a really nice token of appreciation from one of our founders. And then finally, this is the best thing in my office, which is the Iron Man Mark 85. It's a life-size sculpture of the one and only Tony Stark," he added.
The Reddit co-founder is also a passionate gaming enthusiast and celebrated the 30th anniversary of Sony's PlayStation launch earlier this week.
