Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian denies playing tennis with the legend; commits to fetching balls for daughter Olympia after reality check

Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian recently shared a glimpse of his and Williams' residential tennis court after resurfacing it. The Reddit co-founder later admitted that he has never played tennis and is unlikely to play the sport. However, according to Ohanian, he would be open to fetching balls for daughter Olympia.

Alexis Ohanian began dating the legendary Serena Williams in 2015, and the couple became parents two years later, welcoming daughter Olympia to the world. Just over two months after Olympia was born, Ohanian and Williams tied the knot, and eventually became parents for a second time last year as the tennis legend gave birth to daughter Adira.

Since the very beginning of their relationship, Ohanian attended several of Williams' matches, including the last match of her illustrious career, a third-round loss to Ajla Tomljanovic at the 2022 U.S. Open. Recently, the Reddit co-founder took to X (formerly Twitter) and shared a picture of his and Williams' residential tennis court with the caption:

"Giving our court a much needed resurfacing"

Later, an X user praised the court and and asked Ohanian if he wins any points off Williams. To this, the Reddit co-founder replied by saying:

"I have never played tennis in my life. And likely never will. I'll fetch balls for Olympia tho"

Earlier this year, Ohanian had spoken up about Williams' stance on Olympia potentially entering women's sports one day as an athlete.

In an interview with NBC News in early October this year, Alexis Ohanian opened up about the opinion of wife Serena Williams on the possibility of their daughter Olympia becoming an athlete one day. The Reddit co-founder further stated that Williams' take on the subject motivated him to invest in women's sports.

"Yeah, well credit to Serena. I was like, 'Hey, you know, Serena, wouldn't it be nice one day if one day Olympia played on the national tier', and without missing a beat, Serena was like, 'Not until they pay her what she's worth', and I'm like, 'Challenge accepted'," Ohanian said.

The Reddit co-founder is a co-owner of Angel City FC in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). Ohanian is also the mastermind behind Athlos, a women's only track and field competition. Its inaugural edition, Athlos NYC, had the biggest prize purse on offer in women's track and field history.
