Serena Williams’ husband Alexis Ohanian recently shared a heart-warming story where his father Chris asked him to sign a first-edition copy of his book 'Without Their Permission: The Story of Reddit and a Blueprint for How to Change the World.'
Ohanian, who co-founded Reddit, released the book in 2013. It is a personal guide for how other entrepreneurs can follow in his footsteps and make their mark on the world using the internet. The book quickly rose to the top of The Wall Street Journal's Best Sellers list.
On Tuesday, Ohanian took to Twitter to share an emotional moment when his father asked him to sign a 10-year-old first-edition copy of his book.
"My dad asked me to sign his 10 year old first edition of my book," he wrote.
Serena Williams is "a ride or die," according to Alexis Ohanian
Serena Williams and Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian's first meeting was a coincidence. Williams was in Rome for the Italian Open in May 2015 and Ohanian was staying at the same hotel as her. The two first met during breakfast at the hotel and Williams invited him to attend the French Open later that month.
They spent a lot of time together in Paris and eventually got engaged the following year - at the same hotel they first met. In 2017, they welcomed their daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr. into the world and tied the knot later that year.
When Ohanian met Serena Williams, he was not a tennis enthusiast and had never watched a single match. However, since meeting her, he has been an ardent supporter in the stands, cheering on his wife.
In an interview on CBS Morning, Serena Williams spoke candidly about her retirement plans, her business endeavors, and how she was savoring her family life.
Ohanian joined the interview for a brief moment to talk about his wife and give viewers a tour of their farm in Florida, providing a glimpse into their idyllic life. When interviewer Gayle King posed the question of how the couple worked so well together, Ohanian said:
“I knew I had met someone that I was never going to outgrow and more importantly I knew I had met someone who was always going to explicitly, believe me sometimes or implicitly challenge me to be better. She’s a ride or die and you all don’t see a lot of it because thankfully it'll do my work in public.”
