Serena Williams' husband and Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian recently shared how spending time with their daughters helps him unwind and "release tension" after a stressful day. Ohanian talked about his daughters during a conversation with former American basketball player Chris Bosh

Williams and Ohanian first met in May 2015 at the Cavalieri Hotel in Rome, Italy, and got engaged at the same hotel in 2016. Their first daughter, Olympia Ohanian, was born on September 1, 2017, and they tied the knot two months later on November 16, 2017 in New Orleans. Their youngest daughter, Adira River Ohanian, was born in August 2023.

Recently, while speaking to Chris Bosh, whose net worth is $110 million (according to celebritynetworth.com), Alexis Ohanian shared that spending time with his eldest daughter, Olympia, after a tough and taxing day helps him release the tensions of the day.

“It’s this give and take where I could be having some kind of day, the first minute I spend with her [Olympia Ohanian], it kind of releases and I can let go of that tension,” Serena Williams' husband said.

The tech entrepreneur then inquired if Bosh had similar experiences with his children, given the stress and pressure that comes with being a professional athlete.

“I don’t think there’s a job with the same kind of pressure and stress as pro sports. Are there moments you can think of when you remember feeling that release? What was it like the first time you won the championship ? What was it like seeing your family?” Alexis Ohanian asked Chris Bosh.

In response, Chris Bosh revealed that one of his proudest moments was having his son join him on the court after winning a championship. He shared that he wanted his son to absorb the energy of the arena post-victory, even though he was too young to fully comprehend the significance of the moment.

“I just had my son. He was like this. For me it was just proud. My dad, me and my brother and my son were there you know, we just win, they brought him on the court, ‘Look at this man, look at this. Get it all in, son,’” Bosh said.

Bosh stated that he wished for his son to cherish the memories of their time together captured in photos.

“My son, like The Lion King just, put him up there in the arena. It was a great feeling, of getting to take the pictures I wanted him to one day see that and say, ‘Yeah man you always around, man.’ I started taking you around as soon as I could and I was just, you know, a very proud moment for me,” he added.

Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian revealed why he didn't name his new firm 776 after eldest daughter Olympia

Serena Williams' husband, Alexis Ohanian launched his venture capital firm, Seven Seven Six (776), in 2021. Last year, he took to social media to reveal the inspiration behind the firm's name.

Ohanian revealed that he initially wanted to name the firm after their daughter, Olympia.

“I get this question a lot. People want to know what Seven Seven Six stand for. Well, I was originally naming the firm after Olympia, our first-born daughter, because she was a part of the inspiration for me to start Seven Seven Six,” Serena Williams' husband said.

However, Serena Williams advised against it, expressing concerns that if they were to have another child, which they did in 2023, that child might feel left out.

“I didn’t name it Olympia Capital because my wife wisely pointed out that if we’d had another kid, spoiler we do have another kid, they would be jealous. Instead, thinking back to my ancient Greek history classes, 776 BCE was the year of the first ancient Olympic Games. The domain was available and I just went with 776,” he added.

Before founding 776, Alexis Ohanian co-founded Reddit in 2005 alongside Steve Huffman and Aaron Swartz. He remained with the company until 2010 before shifting focus to personal projects. Ohanian returned to Reddit as executive chairman in 2014 before ultimately departing from the company in 2020 to pursue his entrepreneurial endeavors.
