Serena Williams' husband, Alexis Ohanian, recently shared his thoughts on 2024 Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter's trading card, featuring a memorable Sports Illustrated cover photoshoot. The Reddit co-founder was impressed when the July 2022 issue of the magazine resurfaced online.

The Heisman Trophy is the most prestigious award in college football, awarded annually to the most outstanding college football player in the United States. Hunter, the 2024 recipient, played 688 defensive snaps and 672 offensive snaps. He is just the second Heisman winner from Colorado University and the first Colorado Buffaloes player to take home the award in 30 years.

On Sunday, Alexis Ohanian shared a post on his Instagram story featuring the cover of the July 2022 issue of Sports Illustrated magazine titled "Primed," which features Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders and his son Shedeur Sanders, who plays the quarterback position, along with Travis Hunter on the cover page.

On the post that accompanied the 2022 trading card was written:

“Congratulations to Travis Hunter, the winner of the 2024 Heisman Trophy! This is his 1st Sports Illustrated cover appearance from July 2022 graded in newsstand at 9.8. This copy is a pop 3 with none graded higher.”

Alexis Ohanian then captioned the screenshot of the Trading card he shared, commenting that it's a great cover and a good grab.

Over the years, Serena Williams' husband, Alexis Ohanian, has been heavily involved in women's sports and has advocated for equality. He recently made the largest donation to the University of Virginia Women's Basketball Team. Over the next four years, the team will reportedly receive $776,000.

In a statement shared on the university's official social media account, Alexis Ohanian addressed a frequently asked question about his involvement in women's basketball.

Ohanian was proud to support his alma mater's women's basketball program, aiming for his donation to attract top talent to Charlottesville and win championships within the next four years.

“It's probably the question I get the most often these days-when are you going to make moves in women's basketball? I am proud to support the women's program at my alma mater with this donation. It's time to bring the nation's best hoops talent to Charlottesville and win some championships in the next four years” - Serena Williams husband said

Ohanian's primary motive for the donation was his appreciation for the University of Virginia, as he believes Reddit would not exist without it, where he majored in History and Commerce.

In his commitment to advancing women's sports, Alexis Ohanian has also invested in Angel City FC, an NWSL team, alongside his wife, Serena Williams, and other high-profile investors. Recently, Ohanian co-produced The Offseason, an X (formerly Twitter) original reality TV series that offers an intimate look into the lives of 11 NWSL players during their off-season.
