Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian noted a "massive" vibe shift in the nation ahead of Donald Trump's inauguration. Trump, who spearheads the conservative Republican party, is set to succeed Joe Biden, representing the progressive Democrat party on Monday, January 20.

Ahead of this, the Reddit co-founder took to his X (formerly Twitter) handle on Sunday and wrote:

"The vibe shift in the USA in the last few months or so has been MASSIVE. Genuinely curious to see how the first 100 days go," Ohanian expressed.

Ohanian's observation came in response to a resurfaced militaristic speech by Medal of Honor recipient Staff Sargeant David G. Bellavia. Although Bellavia delivered the words as he was inducted into the Pentagon's Hall of Heroes, on June 26, 2019, it has recently resurfaced online.

In the viral video, Bellavia can be heard issuing a warning to enemies of the US before the footage cuts to shots showing American warships, fighter jets, satellites, and other militaristic scenes.

"If you want war with the United States of America," the Sargeant warns in the clip, "someone else will raise your sons and daughters."

Responding to Alexis Ohanian's post, WIX Chairman Mark Tluszcz remarked that "the first 100 hours is the new 100 days."

Donald Trump will be sworn in for his second term as US President on Monday (January 20). The 78-year-old has promised a flurry of activities on the first day itself, including new executive orders facilitating mass deportations, restricting US citizenships, and increasing tariffs on foreign goods, among others.

Trump has also claimed that he would be able to end the Russia-Ukraine conflict within 24 hours of becoming president.

Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian on US Presidential elections: "Lots to learn from this"

An outspoken figure on social media, Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian gave his take on the political climate ahead of the Presidential elections last year. In November, Ohanian said there was "lots" to be learned from the election.

Before this, in 2023, Alexis Ohanian emphasized voting for leaders who were proficient with technology and wrote via his X:

"Who you vote for matters. And it's more important than ever that the folks in office are at least proficient in technology and are spending time with builders to understand the potential paths so that we can get the best possible outcome for America & humanity," he wrote.

Breaking from tradition, Donald Trump's inaugural ceremony will be held indoors amid freezing temperatures in DC. The last time an inauguration was moved indoors was in 1985 when former Republican President Ronald Reagan was sworn in for his second term.
