Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian has shared how he helped their seven-year-old daughter Olympia learn the importance of teamwork through the X-Men arcade game. Taking to X, he posted an image of Olympia playing the classic game produced by Konami in 1992, in which players control X-Men characters to battle Magneto and his Brotherhood of Evil Mutants.
The Reddit co-founder tweeted:
"Learning about Teamwork."
It likely referred to the cooperative gameplay aspect of the X-Men arcade game, emphasizing the importance of working together.
Earlier this week, Ohanian discussed the growing role of AI in the workforce.
Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian shares a vital human skill he hopes daughters Olympia and Adira will retain in an AI-driven future
During a conversation on the podcast On Purpose with Jay Shetty, Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian said:
"There's lots of different areas where AI may not necessarily replace human work, but is going to be an amazing superpower."
The 41-year-old entrepreneur shared his hopes for his daughters encouraging them to develop skills that will remain valuable even in a world shaped by rapid technological change:
"And so what do I want for my kid, or for even for anyone's kid who's entering a workforce, is probably to most importantly build skills that I know are going to be durable, call it a decade or two from now. So empathy is a skill that I think will be the last bastion of AI. Like you're seeing, you've probably seen the videos now, of robotics and the leaps and bounds that's starting to make.
It's still early days but there are skills, there are professions, where empathy is so, so, so important. And the physicality of being present, one human to another, where, at least I personally believe if we ever get to that point with AI and robotics, we can pretty much call it as a species."
Williams and Ohanian tied the knot in November 2017, after welcoming their first daughter, Olympia, in September. Williams continued her illustrious career, balancing motherhood and tennis, before retiring in 2022.
In August 2023, the couple celebrated the arrival of their second daughter, Adira. Known for its close-knit bond, the family often shares heartfelt glimpses of their life on social media.
