Serena Williams' husband and Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian shared his predictions for tech trends in 2025. Among his forecasts, Ohanian highlighted the potential for artificial intelligence (AI) to finally have its hardware moment.

Ohanian's insights into future tech trends carry weight, especially given his track record of successful ventures and investments. The 41-year-old co-founded Initialized Capital and launched Seven Seven Six (776), an early-stage venture capital firm that has invested in numerous successful startups.

Ohanian shared his prediction on his Instagram story on January 17, 2025. In the clip, he hinted at the direction of 776's investments, suggesting that those paying attention might discern the areas poised for breakthroughs.

"One of the tech trends I am expecting in 2025 is for AI to finally have its hardware moment. I don't know what it's going to be. And if you've been paying attention to where we've been investing in 776, you might have a clue. But somehow we're going to get a breakthrough device that actually uses AI seamlessly to create, and this is important, an amazing user experience," Ohanian said.
"So far, we haven't had that amazing user experience with AI and hardware, but I think it's going to happen in 2025. So get ready because it's going to get very, very cool," he added.

Alexis Ohanian shared the key human trait he hopes his daughters, Olympia and Adira River, retain as AI and robotics transform the world.

Speaking on the 'On Purpose with Jay Shetty' podcast, Ohanian noted that while AI won’t entirely replace human jobs, it will become a vital workforce tool.

"There's lots of different areas where AI may not necessarily replace human work, but is going to be an amazing superpower," Ohanian said.

The Reddit co-founder emphasized "empathy" as an irreplaceable human quality, stressing the importance of personal connection in a future shaped by advancing technology.

"And so what do I want for my kid, or for even for anyone's kid who's entering a workforce, is probably to most importantly build skills that I know are going to be durable, call it a decade or two from now. So empathy is a skill that I think will be the last bastion of AI," he said.
"Like you're seeing, you've probably seen the videos now, of robotics and the leaps and bounds that's starting to make. It's still early days but there are skills, there are professions, were empathy is so, so, so important. And the physicality of being present one human to another where, at least I personally believe if we ever get to that point with AI and robotics, we can pretty much call it as a species," he added.

In related news, Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian creatively incorporated AI to include Taylor Swift and Beyonce into math problems for his daughter, Olympia.
