Serena Williams’ husband Alexis Ohanian paid tribute to his father Chris. The widely recognized seasoned entrepreneur mentioned his dad in a video of the outro of 776’s Annual General Meeting on an online platform.

With prior experience as co-founder at Initialized Capital, an early-stage venture capital firm, Ohaniam took the bold step of launching his own VC firm, Seven Seven Six (AKA "776"), in June 2021. Branded as "a tech company that deploys venture capital," 776 is dedicated to supporting founders in their mission to "change the world."

On Saturday, December 7, Ohanian shared an Instagram reel expressing gratitude to his team for their incredible support in building Seven Seven Six, which he referred to as their "life's work." In the outro of the video from their AGM, he hinted that "the best is yet to come."

During 776’s Annual General Meeting (AGM), Ohanian was seen calling his dad, Chris, who previously worked as a travel agent and pharmacy technician.

He commented:

“ Yes that's my Dad in our @776fund AGM outro!”

He also joked about how they might one day reach the level of Warren Buffett.

Alexis Ohanian: “You know Warren Buffett does his version in Omaha?”

Chris: “Yes. yes. In a stadium. Yes.”

Alexis: “Okay, well Dad, alright, we're not there yet. But this is the digital version of it."

Alexis Ohanian, Serena Williams' husband, expressed his gratitude to his father Chris for offering valuable advice to his venture capital firm 776 during its 2024 AGM. Ohanian revealed that he had called on his father for some "sage fatherly wisdom" to assist with a presentation at the meeting.

Ohanian shared an Instagram stories post featuring a glimpse of his "unique cold open" for their AGM, an idea suggested by the content team. The seasoned entrepreneur described it as "pretty great" and expressed gratitude to his father for his "fatherly advice."

He wrote:

"Our 776 content team pitched me on a unique cold open for our AGM this year and' I think it turned out pretty great. Thanks for the fatherly advice, Dad!"

Serena Williams's husband had also promised his dad to share his feedback on Megan Thee Stallion's performance. When he asked his dad about Athlos, the all-female track event, Chris said he absolutely loved it.
