Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian proudly flaunted his collection of the American tennis legend's trading cards. Ohanian has been collecting his wife's tennis cards for the past five years and currently boasts the world's largest collection.

The American entrepreneur amassed 4500 cards to preserve the 23-time Grand Slam champion's legacy for their future grandkids and great-grandkids to witness. In a recent collaboration with card trading company Alt, Ohanian showcased his collection valued at around $2.5 million.

"The whole plan for this is that like grandkids, great grandkids, they'll have this collection and probably hundred years from now, museums will want to put pieces of this up for the public display. But I don't want our grandkids to ever have to go to museums to see someone else's possession. They should be the ones renting it out. So that's why we got the greatest collection of all time for you [Serena Williams]," Ohanian said.

On Thursday, November 28, Ohanian announced on social media that he had put up his Rafael Nadal Glossy Netpro Rookie card for bidding. An online user shared their surprise upon discovering that tennis cards exist. Reacting to this, the Reddit co-founder flaunted his massive Serena card collection.

Ohanian obtained the collection mostly from private deals and card shows. Apart from the Serena Williams collection, the 41-year-old owns an extensive list of Formula 1, basketball, golf, and soccer cards.

Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian divulged that the first card he collected of his wife was "one of the glossies", which had vibrant colors with a shiny finish. The American stated that he purchased it back in 2019.

"I remember the first one. I think the first one I got was one of the glossies, and it was 2019. I think it could have been 18," Ohanian said in an interview with Alt.

Ohanian recalled visiting a website that presented Williams' 10 most popular rookie cards, from where he picked the glossy one. He expressed his liking for its shine but maintained that they were "not the nicest."

"One of the net pro glossies and I really didn't know what I was doing. I think I found a website that said, here are the ten most popular Serena Williams rookie cards, and the glossy is a nice one. It is limited but of course, it is not numbered. So it's actually not the nicest one but whatever. I liked it. It was shiny," he added.

Alexis Ohanian married Serena Williams in 2018 and they have two children. The couple welcomed their first child Olympia in 2017. Six years later, they were blessed with a daughter, who goes by Adira.
