Serena Williams' husband, Alexis Ohanian, recently shared a cherished throwback moment of an unforgettable evening when he and his sister-in-law, tennis legend Venus Williams, attended Kendrick Lamar's 'The Big Steppers Tour' concert in 2022. This nostalgic post coincided with Lamar's latest announcement of his upcoming 2025 North American stadium tour.
Back in 2022, American rapper Kendrick Lamar embarked on 'The Big Steppers Tour' to promote his fifth studio album, 'Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers.' The tour was a significant cultural event, drawing massive crowds and rave reviews for its dynamic performances and thought-provoking lyrics.
Ohanian, who has long been a fan of the American rapper, took the opportunity to attend the concert at the Capital One Arena in Washington DC on August 4, 2022, with Venus Williams.
Fast forward to December 4, 2024, and Ohanian once again celebrated this cherished memory on social media. In light of Kendrick Lamar and SZA's announcement of the 'Grand National Tour' set for next spring and summer, Ohanian took to X to post a throwback photo from the 2022 concert.
"Took my sis Venus Williams to this Kendrick Lamar show. Next year's tour is going to be something else," Ohanian wrote.
Alexis Ohanian, a long-time Kendrick Lamar fan, has supported him during his feud with Canadian rapper and singer Drake. Ohanian was also targeted by Drake in the song 'Middle of the Ocean' from the 2022 album 'Her Loss,' where he was called a "groupie."
Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian takes jibe at Drake over Kendrick Lamar feud
Alexis Ohanian stood in support of Kendrick Lamar during his feud with Drake, stemming from their long-standing rivalry. Serena Williams, Ohanian's wife, has often been pulled into the drama.
Unconfirmed rumors suggest Williams and Drake may have dated in 2015. In his 2022 track "Middle of the Ocean," Drake seemed to target both Williams and Ohanian in some of his lyrics.
"Sidebar, Serena, your husband a groupie/He claim we don't got a problem but/No, boo, it is, like you comin' for sushi/We might pop up on 'em at will like Suzuki," Drake rapped.
In response, Kendrick Lamar released the diss track "Not Like Us," voicing support for Williams and warning Drake not to involve her in the feud.
"From Alondra down to Central, n**ga better not speak on Serena," Lamar rapped.
Ohanian expressed his support for Lamar by sharing a humorous GIF on X:
"Stop, stop he's already dead" read the post.
In 2022, Ohanian appeared to address Drake's "groupie" comment by stating that his drive for excellence meant being the best groupie for his wife and daughter.
