Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian reveals 'one conversation' he's never needed to have with tennis legend

Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian recently revealed a particular conversation that he has never felt the need to have with his legendary wife. Williams and Ohanian got hitched in 2017 and today, they are happily married and loving parents to two daughters, Olympia and Adira River.

On Wednesday, January 15, Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian took to X (formerly Twitter) and shared a snippet of himself talking to Thanasis Antetokounmpo. Ohanian recently featured as a guest on Antetokounmpo's podcast, Thanalysis Show. In the brief video, Ohanian talked about growing up as a "random kid" who eventually began to get recognition after co-founding Reddit.

"There was a point in my life, you know, totally random kid growing up. Nobody. Then, like, starting Reddit, people started occasionally to be like, "Hey, Reddit dude!" Once, literally I was in a restaurant, the server comes over and she's like, "Oh, your money's no good here." I'm like, 'What are you talking about?' She's like, 'No. So and so over there, he told me you're the Reddit guy,'" Ohanian said.

The 41-year-old went on to talk about his relationship with wife Serena Williams, a former World No. 1 in women's tennis and 23-time singles Grand Slam champion. Ohanian claimed that he has never had to defend or justify his career choices in front of Williams.

"And then obviously at some point, I start talking to my wife. Then obviously we get engaged, we get married. And then, more and more people are like, "Oh hey, like, say 'hi' to Serena for me." One conversation I've never had to have in this relationship has been defending or justifying why I need to do something for my career. I still want to be a better partner. I want to be a better dad and be the best at what I do. And she understands that better than anybody," Ohanian added.

Since striking up a romantic relationship with Williams back in the mid-2010s, Ohanian himself had to open his mind up to living with a professional athlete.

Earlier this month, Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian had a conversation with former NFL star Justin Truck. During the conversation, Ohanian revealed that he did not have an appreciation for the lives led by professional athletes until he began dating Williams.

"This is something I did not appreciate until I found myself in a relationship with a professional athlete, which is the amount of time that you all have to invest in time away from the game. In making sure that you're getting this time, this nourishment, whether it's the time with family, the philanthropic work," Ohanian said.

Ohanian himself has ventured into the world of women's sports as a proactive investor. The Reddit co-founder is a co-owner of National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) franchise Angel City FC.

Serena Williams' husband is also the brains behind Athlos, the women's track and field competition, whose inaugural edition, Athlos NYC, offered the most lucrative prize purse in the sport's history. More recently, Ohanian made a $1 million donation to the University of Virginia's women's basketball team.
