Ohanian's subtle dig added another layer to the ongoing tension between Drake and Kendrick Lamar, further escalating the drama between Ohanian and the Canadian rapper.

An avid Kendrick Lamar fan, Ohanian has openly supported the Compton rapper in his long-standing feud with Drake. The tension between Lamar and Drake has been simmering for over a decade, characterized by subtle disses and competitive exchanges.

Their rivalry hit a new peak with the release of Lamar's track "Not Like Us" in May 2024, which included pointed criticisms of Drake. The contentious lyrics of "Not Like Us" accuse Drake of inappropriate behavior, cultural misrepresentation, and strategic collaborations for personal gain.

Lamar's direct assault included allegations of Drake's involvement in inappropriate relationships and human trafficking charges against members of his OVO crew. These heavy accusations intensified the feud, prompting Drake to take legal action against Universal Music Group (UMG), alleging defamation and harassment due to the song's content.

Amid Drake's legal battle, Alexis Ohanian seized the moment to take another dig at Drake. Ohanian's tweet quoted a line from Lamar's "Not Like Us," writing:

"Wop, wop, wop, wop, wop."

This social media showdown traces back to 2022 when Drake released his song "Middle of the Ocean" from the album "Her Loss." In the track, Drake directly referred to Ohanian, labeling him a "groupie" of Serena Williams. The specific lyrics were:

"Sidebar, Serena, your husband a groupie/He claim we don’t got a problem but/No, boo, it is like you comin’ for sushi."

This jab was intended to undermine Ohanian by suggesting that his support for his wife was excessive and fan-like. However, Ohanian turned the tables by responding on X (formerly Twitter) with a positive and humorous tweet, stating:

"The reason I stay winning is because I’m relentless about being the absolute best at whatever I do—including being the best groupie for my wife and daughter. "

To top it all off, she humorously performed a crip-walk to Lamar's Not Like Us on stage.

"And if I've learned anything this year, not a single one of us, not even me, should ever pick a fight with Kendrick Lamar. He will make your hometown not like you," Serena Williams said. "The next time Drake sits courtside at a Raptors game, they're gonna Forrest Gump him, seats taken."
