Serena Williams’ husband, Alexis Ohanian, expressed his gratitude to golf superstar Tiger Woods for allowing him to be part of the golfer’s new legacy project, TGL. Woods, who boasts an impressive net worth of $800,000,000 (according to Celebrity Net Worth), has teamed up with two partners to launch this innovative golf league. Ohanian was invited by Woods to join as an investor in the venture.

TGL, or TMRW, is an innovative golf league that brings together advanced technology and top PGA Tour players for exciting two-hour weekly competitions. The league features six teams from different cities, competing head-to-head at the SoFi Center located at Palm Beach State College.

The golf league, founded by sports executive Mike McCarley alongside golf legends Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, officially made its debut on January 7, 2025, after being delayed from its originally planned 2024 launch. On its second day of competition, Tiger Woods’ Jupiter Links Golf Club took on the Los Angeles Golf Club, owned by Ohanian, in a match held on Tuesday, January 14.

Ohanian's team, LAGC, secured their first-ever victory in the league with a dominant performance. Led by Collin Morikawa, Sahith Theegala, Justin Rose, and Tommy Fleetwood, they triumphed over Jupiter Links, a team featuring none other than Tiger Woods, alongside Max Homa, Tom Kim, and Kevin Kisner by an exceptional 12-1 score.

After his team’s impressive debut win against a team led by the golfer who dominated the world rankings for 683 weeks, the former Reddit cofounder shared his thoughts in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, January 15. Expressing his gratitude and excitement about the innovative golf league, he wrote:

“The Greatest To Ever Do It. Thank you, @TigerWoods, for the call to be an early investor in your ambitious new golf league and for letting me play a very small part in your immense legacy. @tgl is well on its way to being something very special — and I’ll always be grateful.”

He also poked fun at Woods for making it easy for them to win.

“Also very kind of you to let us win our inaugural match so handily@wearelagc,” he added.

Serena Williams shared her thoughts on her daughters, Olympia and Adira River, taking an interest in golf during an appearance on ESPN’s broadcast in January. She was there to support the LAGC team, which she co-owns with her husband, Alexis Ohanian, and her sister, Venus Williams.

During the broadcast, Williams shared that she had never been a golfer and jokingly commented on her seven-year-old and one-year-old daughters’ interest in golf. She explained:

"No, but I did hit last Sunday. and that counts. My daughter plays golf. Well, one was playing and one was rolling around on her back. I'm not kidding."
