Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian welcomes streamer with 150,000+ subscribers who snubbed Boston Common Golf for his Los Angeles GC franchise

Serena Williams' husband welcomed Rumble streamer JerryAftereDark to his "team" after he snubbed Boston Common Golf for Ohanian's TGL franchise Los Angeles Golf Club in a golf simulator. LAGC's official X account shared a video of JerryAfterDark, a streamer with over 150,000 subscribers on YouTube, playing the game.

A voice behind said that it hoped Jerry had picked Boston Common Golf as his team for the TGL but he instantly interjected and said:

"I'm on Los Angeles. That's my team."

Re-sharing the video, the 41-year-old Reddit co-founder Ohanian wrote:

"LFG @JerryAfterDark we're glad to have you on the team!! Good luck on your hole-in-one!"

Los Angeles Golf Club, co-owned by Serena Williams, her husband Alexis Ohanian, their daughters, and her sister Venus Williams, is a founding team in the TGL.

It was announced in January 2024 that the LAGC will allocate 10% of its annual sponsorship revenues to restore the Maggie Hathaway Golf Course in Los Angeles, California. Its first signed player, 27-year-old Collin Morikawa, highlighted its importance to the local golfing community in a video shared on X:

"10% of it is going to be donated back to the Maggie Hathaway project. It's been such an honor to be a part of this as ambassador, and to be a part of LAGC and to know their give back efforts, to give back to the city that I care about so much. I couldn't have asked for a better team around me. This is all about team, this is all about community. And what better to have great partners like that."

Sharing the video, Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian wrote:

"We're doing it differently! The success of @weareLAGC is gonna lift up the LA community thanks to partnerships like ours with Maggie Hathaway — getting even more Angelenos access to a golf course and the skills that come with it!"

The inaugural TGL season, presented by SoFi, kicks off on January 7 with the New York Golf Club facing The Bay Golf Club at the SoFi Center. Jupiter Links Golf Club, featuring Tiger Woods, takes on Los Angeles Golf Club on January 14.

On January 21, New York Golf Club returns to face Atlanta Drive, while Boston Common Golf debuts against Jupiter Links on January 27. TGL is a venture co-founded by professional golfers Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy with other entities.
