Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian nabs limited edition retro gadget for daughter Olympia, waits with bated breath for her reaction

Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian recently expressed his eagerness to find their daughter Olympia's reaction to his new ModRetro Chromatic. The Reddit co-founder had previously shown another one of his ModRetro gaming consoles off to his parents as well.

Ohanian is a big lover of collectibles such as cards, video games and many others. The ModRetro Chromatic is the world's first GameBoy-inspired and compatible handheld device which is pixel-accurate. The console is also bundled with the iconic game, Tetris.

It seems that Williams' husband has got his hands on some of the first editions of the Chromatic, which will be limited in number. He took to X to share a picture of three first-edition Chromatics and was excited to know what his daughter Olympia would think of them.

"Here we go! Let's see what @olympiaohanian thinks...," Ohanian tweeted.

Alexis Ohanian had earlier shown a ModRetro Chromatic to his parents, Chris and Anke, who were 'fascinated' by the console, despite being 'boomers', as lovingly called by the 41-year-old. He handed them an orange-colored ModRetro device, which is called the Inferno, and shared a photo of his parents trying to analyze the device.

Ohanian can usually be seen spending time with his daughters and sharing their escapades on social media. He recently mentioned how whatever action he took, he always thought about how it would impact his kids.

For the latest episode of his podcast Business Dad, Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian sat down for a chat with Wired Magazine's former editor-in-chief, Nick Thompson. The Reddit co-founder shared some important takeaways from their conversation, one of which included how being a parent shaped their decision-making.

“Kids made him (Thompson) better at work. He became more aware of needing to add value to the world, knowing that one day his kids would grow up and be able to see everything he'd done. I feel this. As a parent, you want to take actions today that your kids will be proud of tomorrow.”

Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian welcomed their first daughter Olympia on September 1, 2017, and their second daughter Adira on 15 August, 2023. The seven-year-old seems to be developing her love for sports but unlike her mother, Olympia seems to have taken a liking to golf.
