Serena Williams recently reminded her fans that she is far from done with tennis. Notably, Williams retired from the sport in September 2022.
Williams played the final professional match of her career at the 2022 US Open. She had used her protected ranking to secure a spot in the main draw and kicked off her final campaign with a convincing 6-3, 6-3 victory over Danka Kovinic in the first round.
The 23-time Grand Slam champion then triumphed over second seed Anett Kontaveit in the second round, winning 7-6(4), 2-6, 6-2. However, her journey came to an end when she was defeated by Ajla Tomljanovic 5-7, 7-6(4), 1-6 in the third round.
Since then, Williams has been enjoying her life outside of the sport . She recently took to social media to share a short video of herself playing tennis. In the caption, she expressed that if a person loves something they will find a way to enjoy and keep doing it whether there is "rain or shine."
“When you love something come rain or shine you find a way to enjoy and keep doing it," Williams posted on X (formerly known as Twitter).
Since her retirement, Serena Williams has been relishing her time off by spending quality moments with her family, exploring new interests, and expanding her entrepreneurial ventures.
Williams has founded Serena Ventures, a venture capital firm, Nine Two Six Productions, a multimedia company, and Wyn Beauty, a beauty brand, among others . She has also made investments in sports teams like Angel City F.C., which is a part of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) and the Los Angeles Golf Club (LAGC) among others.

Serena Williams recently tried her hand at a different racket sport known as padel. She shared a video of her getting ready to play and ultimately trying out the sport.
In the video, Williams disclosed that it was her first experience playing padel and that she won some sets and lost just one set because she was "tired" towards the end.
“Alright! Just like that I finished, basically my first time playing padel. It was really fun and I won three sets and lost one set. Last set. It was the last set. I was tired and I was really angry and I smashed a ball on the fence (laughing). I am actually telling the truth, I really did that. Some things never change (singing)," Williams said.
“Socks ✅ Ankle ✅ Outfit ✅ … on point. Padel? Ok … issa vibe," Williams captioned her Instagram post.
After retiring from tennis, Williams gave birth to her second daughter, Adira River Ohanian, in August 2023. Her first daughter, Olympia Ohanian, was born in September 2017.
