Rick Macci has plenty of praise for two of the biggest stars in the history of the WTA. The former professional player and acclaimed tennis coach spoke on social media about how Serena and Venus Williams never allowed jealousy or money to stand between them over the course of their careers.

The comments came after Macci expressed admiration at how the sisters remained together through a rivalry on the court and multiple sponsorship contracts. Decades after Venus and Serena began to steal the spotlight on the tennis court, they continue to receive praise from those who know them the best.

Both Venus and Serena Williams were trained by Rick Macci during their childhood. The coach's knowledge and their talent would eventually take the Williams' sisters to achieve amazing feats over the course of their tennis careers.

The Williams sisters happened to grow up in a media environment that wasn't very welcoming of them at first. Nevertheless, Serena and Venus went on to leave their mark in the history of the sport. The Williams' sisters don't win Grand Slam titles anymore. But as they spend more time away from the courts, it becomes evident that they have changed the history of the WTA with their achievements.

Macci wrote on X:

"Venus and Serena best sponsor is Super Glue and it has stood the test of time. 1OO0 different things could of penetrated that relationship from money jealousy you name it. But thru it all the 2 sisters hand in hand still stand tall."

Venus Williams has won seven singles Grand Slam titles over the course of her career. Some of these victories came against her sister, Serena Williams. But the doesn't mean Serena didn't win her fair share of matches against her sibling.

Venus would've scored more Major titles if it wasn't for the finals she lost against her sister. But even when they became fierce competitors on the court, Venus and Serena Williams never lost sight of what was important to them. It would be hard for any WTA player to even come close to the tennis legacy of Serena Williams.

Serena Williams is often regarded as one of the best tennis players in history. Williams won 23 singles Grand Slam titles over the course of her career. The Open Era record-worthy statistic reminds the world of how dominant Serena was back when she was active on the WTA Tour.

The life and legacy of both Venus and Serena Williams was depicted in "King Richard", a movie directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green that was centered around the players' upbringing. Serena Williams is now a successful entrepeneur. The WTA legend has also managed to find success outside the tennis courts.

The last season that saw Serena Williams reaching important finals on the WTA Tour was 2019. She faced Simona Halep in the Wimbledon final, where she would lose against one of the toughest opponents of her time. A few months after that, Williams was defeated by Bianca Andreescu in the final of the US Open.

The pandemic sent the sport into uncertain times, but even then Serena knew the final moments of her career were looming in the distance. After more than two decades of becoming one of the best tennis players in history, Serena Williams retired in September of 2022.
