Serena Williams turns to new sport in post-retirement update, left with 'tired and angry' outburst

Serena Williams, in her post-retirement life has ventured into a new sport, padel. She revealed that the playing session ended with her being 'tired and angry.'

Williams retired from tennis in 2022 after playing at the US Open. Since stepping away from professional tennis, the former World No.1 has been focused on spending her time with her family - her husband Alexis Ohanian and their two daughters, Olympia and Adira. She has also been expanding her business ventures and pursuing other interests.

Recently, Williams took to social media to share a video of herself preparing to play padel. The montage video showcased her putting on her socks, getting dressed in her playing attire, and ultimately playing the sport.

In the video, Williams mentioned that it was her first time playing padel and that she won three sets while losing one. She admitted that the set she lost was the final one, as she was "tired."

The 23-time Grand Slam champion also revealed that her frustration led her to smash a ball against the arena fence after losing the set.

“Alright! Just like that I finished, basically my first time playing padel. It was really fun and I won three sets and lost one set. Last set. It was the last set. I was tired and I was really angry and I smashed a ball on the fence (laughing). I am actually telling the truth, I really did that. Some things never change (singing)," Serena Williams said.
“Socks ✅ Ankle ✅ Outfit ✅ … on point. Padel? Ok … issa vibe," Williams captioned her Instagram post.

In her final professional tournament, the 2022 US Open, Williams had defeated Danka Kovinic and second seed Anett Kontaveit in the first and second rounds, respectively, before being defeated by Ajla Tomljanovic in the third round. She concluded her illustrious career with an impressive 23 singles Grand Slam titles, 14 women's doubles titles, and a couple of mixed doubles titles.

Serena Williams has been enjoying her post-retirement to the fullest, as evidenced by her social media posts. She recently shared a video of herself enjoying herself at a trampoline park.

Williams also shared that during her visit to the park, she encountered a minor mishap when she lost one of her press-on nails.

“Whoo! What a fun day at the trampoline park," Williams had said in the video.

After spending some time at the trampoline park, Williams shared another video. This time, she was seen enjoying some quality mother-daughter time with her eldest daughter, Olympia, as they had some fun together on a swing.
