Serena Williams and Venus Williams are dabbling in the latest pickleball trend with help from Jamie Foxx.

Jamie Foxx, an avid tennis fan, is currently trying his luck at pickleball. The renowned American actor has collaborated with film director Taylor Chien to sell the paddles used for the activity, calling them “The Best Paddle.” The equipment also includes Foxx’s autograph on it.

The Williams sisters were recently gifted paddles by Foxx, and Serena Williams shared the news on social media. In the video, the 23-time Grand Slam champion took a light-hearted sarcastic dig at Jamie Foxx for the delay in receiving the equipment.

“I finally got my paddle Jamie. That only took three months, but finally got it,” she said.

The American tennis legend further expressed her optimism about the paddle living up to its name and hilariously declared that she would be destroying it as well as Foxx with her game.

“And it is going to be the best paddle. I'm about to tear it up and I'm about to tear you up,” Serena Williams said in a video posted by the equipment’s official social media page.

Venus Williams, who was standing beside the 41-year-old, was taken by surprise after seeing her younger sister all fired up. The seven-time Grand Slam champion later took to social media to share her reaction.

“Shots fired!” she wrote on her Instagram story, accompanied by a laughing emoji.

The Williams sisters have enjoyed an immensely successful career in tennis, becoming two of the greatest athletes in the history of the sport.

While 42-year-old Venus Williams is on a comeback journey after a hamstring injury suffered at the 2023 ASB Classic in Auckland, Serena Williams opted to retire from the sport after the 2022 US Open.

During one of her talk show appearances last year, the 23-time Grand Slam champion joked that pickleball, which is similar to tennis in some ways, could become her second career.

"I love pickleball. Isn’t it fun? And I love that it’s everywhere now. It could be a second career of mine," she said.

Venus Williams, meanwhile, recently revealed that she is yet to try her hand at pickleball, despite being gifted a racquet by Jamie Foxx.

“Someone gave one [paddle] to me but I haven’t played yet. I can’t wait to! Getting back on the court is a priority. But I played padel today!” she wrote in one of her recent Instagram stories.
