Serena Williams' husband, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian recently expressed his amusement at an unexpected sports crossover. Ohanian reacted to an old video of NFL quarterbacks Sam Darnold and Daniel Jones competing in a professional cornhole competition.

The video in question dates back to January 31, 2020, when Sam Darnold of the New York Jets and Daniel Jones of the New York Giants faced off at an American Cornhole League challenge in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

The event, held during Super Bowl weekend, saw the two quarterbacks team up with professional cornhole players to compete in a friendly match. Darnold and his partner, professional cornhole player Matthew Sorrells, emerged victorious.

The timing of the video's resurgence is particularly interesting, as it coincides with recent developments in Daniel Jones' career. After being released by the New York Giants, Jones signed with the Minnesota Vikings' practice squad on November 27, 2024. Meanwhile, Sam Darnold has been working with the Vikings since March 2024.

"Very happy to be teammates with him. Spent some time with him in the past, great guy. Just excited to get him in here and be teammates with him. He’s played a lot of football, so to be able to draw from his experience, he’s going to help this football team," Darnold said (via fox9.com).

Ohanian reshared the video on his X account (formerly Twitter), expressing his disbelief at the match’s premise.

"This… is real? I have so many questions," Ohanian wrote.

A fan joined the conversation by sharing a Sportskeeda article that highlighted other football players who had ventured into the realm of professional cornhole. Serena Williams' husband then responded:

"Yeah these are NFL QBs... That's what I can't figure out -- side hustle? They get paid well..."
