Hubert Hurkacz, Felix Auger-Aliassime, Sloane Stephens, Brandon Nakashima, and other players wished a speedy recovery for Sebastian Korda after the American underwent elbow surgery. Korda was last seen in action at the 2024 US Open where he suffered a second-round exit to Tomas Machac.

Coming into Flushing Meadows, the American was in scintillating form having won his maiden ATP 500 title at the Mubadala Citi DC Open and reaching the semifinals of the Canadian Masters. He did face a hiccup at the Cincinnati Masters with a second-round exit before crashing out at the US Open.

Since the New York Major, the 24-year-old withdrew from Asian swing tournaments like the Hangzhou Open and the Shanghai Masters.

Sebastian Korda took to Instagram to share with his fans that he had surgery on his elbow and expressed his desire to be back in action as soon as possible.

"Hi everyone, I wanted to update you all—I’ve been dealing with some elbow issues and my team and I decided surgery was the best option. Everything went great, and I can’t wait to be back on court soon. Thanks for all your support!"

Hubert Hurkacz, Sloane Stephens, Felix Auger-Aliassime, Brandon Nakashima, and other stars of the tennis world sent their best wishes to the World No. 19 under his post.

Though the injury may have hampered the final stretch of his year, Sebastian Korda has had a breakthrough season regardless. The American entered the Top 20 of the ATP rankings after a semifinal run at the Cinch Championships and a run to the final at the Libema Open during the grass swing.

This also made him and his father Petr Korda the first father-son duo to be ranked in the Top 20 since the ATP rankings' inception.

He followed it up by winning the Mubadala Citi DC Open defeating the likes of Jordan Thompson, Frances Tiafoe, and Flavio Cobolli. This win helped the father-son duo become the first to win the same event in ATP history. This was followed by a deep run at the Canadian Masters with wins over Taylor Fritz and Alexander Zverev. It was ended by eventual champion Alexei Popyrin in the semifinals.

Sebastian Korda has a 31-19 win/loss record this year, and despite missing out on the Asian swing, the American is still ranked inside the Top 20 at 19th.
