Boris Becker seemed to be enjoying the war of words between Iga Swiatek and Danielle Collins after a controversial quarterfinal match at the Paris Olympics 2024. The American added more fuel to the fire after her comments to the media.

During the quarterfinal match between Swiatek and Collins, the Pole won the first set 6-1 but the American came back strongly to take the second set 6-2. The World No. 1 was racing to victory but Collins retired 1-4 down, sending Swiatek to the semifinals.

After the match, during the customary handshake, the American had a long chat with the five-time Grand Slam champion which left her visibly confused. After the match, Collins revealed what she told Swiatek during the confrontation. She said that she asked the Pole to not be 'insincere' about her injury.

"I told Iga she didn't have to be insincere about my injury... There's a lot that happens on camera, and there are a lot of people with a ton of charisma and come out and are one way on camera and another way in the locker room. They can be the way that they are, I can accept that, and I don't need the fakeness," Collins said.

Becker seemed to be enjoying the spat between the duo. He wrote:

Iga Swiatek also explained her stance on the controversy surrounding the quarterfinal match at the Paris Olympics 2024. The Pole said to Interia Sports that she did not want to speculate on the cause of Collins' outrage, adding that she congratulated her on her successful career, as this season is the American's last season on tour.

Swiatek further said that she did not have any interaction that could have prompted the American to say anything.

“Well, I won't argue about it, because I've never done anything nasty to her. I rather wanted to congratulate her on her successful career, because we all know that this is her last year on tour, Honestly, I don't know what she meant, because we didn't even have any interactions that could have caused her to say that to me," Swiatek said.

Iga Swiatek lost to Zheng Qinwen in the semifinal at the Paris Olympics 2024 and will now fight for a bronze medal against the winner of Donna Vekic and Anna Karolina Schmiedlova.
