Andy Roddick was unimpressed with Russian President Vladimir Putin's alleged demand for condemnation from world leaders over Ukraine's incursion of Kursk. He slammed Putin for launching a war and then demanding sympathy.
The American reacted to an alleged statement from Vladimir Putin questioning the lack of condemnation from world leaders. Putin also brought attention to the rising death toll in the ongoing Kursk incursion. Ukraine launched a surprise invasion in the Kursk region of Russia on August 6.
The alleged statement by Putin, posted by an X account is as follows:
"BREAKING: Statement by President Putin: 'One week into the Enemy's criminal invasion into our country and NOT ONE CONDEMNATION from world leaders. Do they not have eyes? Or do they not care about the dead littering the streets when they're russian bodies?'"
The editor-in-chief of a news website, MeidasTouch Network, Ron Filipkowski, who is also famous for sharing his commentary on politics, replied to the post and said:
"I do not care."
Roddick replied to Filipkowski and pointed out the irony in the statement. He alluded to the fact that Russia initiated the war but wanted condemnation after Ukraine retaliated.
"Imagine starting a fight and then whining when they throw a punch," Roddick said.
Andy Roddick on news host accusing Taylor Swift of endorsing Kamala Harris - "Imagine telling her to shut up and dribble"
Andy Roddick launched sharp criticism of a Fox News host who slammed Taylor Swift for allegedly endorsing Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris. The controversy erupted when Swift shared pictures from a show in Poland. One of the pictures has a silhouette of a woman waving, which many fans felt resembled Kamala Harris.
Reacting to this, Fox News host Harris Falkner suggested that the famous pop star should keep politics out of the live show.
"It's divided us as such a nation, why can't you go to a concert without that? She can vote any kind of way she wants, she can talk about it off stage, but when people pay to see you, just perform," said Falkner.
Andy Roddick defended The Tortured Poets Department singer and said it was wrong to tell the singer what to do and not do on her own show. He also pointed out that Falkner did not take offense to Scott Baio and Ted Nugent offering Donald Trump campaign strategies.
"Imagine someone telling @taylorswift13 how/what to perform. At her own show ……. Imagine telling her to shut up and dribble, but also asking Scott Baio/Ted Nugent about campaign strategy on air," Roddick wrote.
Roddick retired from tennis in 2012 after an illustrious career, having won the 2003 US Open.
