Stefanos Tsitsipas joked about a Tesla cybertruck going up in flames just outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Greek poked fun at Elon Musk over the car's self-driving mode, tongue-in-cheek mistaking it for "self-destruction" mode.

Tsitsipas struggled with consistent results last year, dropping outside the year-end top 10 ATP rankings for the first time since 2019. The 26-year-old is looking to reverse his fortunes in 2025. His season-opening United Cup campaign ended on a mixed note as he went 1-1 in his singles matches.

Outside of tennis, Tsitsipas has also left an imprint on social media with his tweets lately. On Thursday (January 2), he poked fun at Elon Musk on X (formerly Twitter) in light of a Tesla Cybertruck, which was first heralded by the $485 billion-worth businessman (per Celebrity Net Worth) in 2023, exploding outside a Las Vegas-based hotel belonging to the US President-elect Donald Trump. He tweeted:

"Elon wasn’t kidding about Tesla’s full self-destruction mode."

Meanwhile, the explosion killed the driver inside the Tesla pick-up truck and injured seven bystanders in Las Vegas. The incident is currently also being investigated as a possible act of terrorism.

Stefanos Tsitsipas recently said during a media interaction at the 2025 United Cup that he was looking for a healthy balance between his professional tennis career and personal life pursuits. The former World No. 3 also claimed that he was looking for "constant improvement". He said:

"I'm looking for a fresh, new 2025. That doesn't mean to suddenly just start winning everything. That's not the point of this (smiling). It's just to see a trajectory of constant improvement, and improving in all fields in my career, but also in my outside life."
"I want to have stability in my life. Last year was a little bit up-and-down in terms of results, in terms of feelings outside of the court and on-court. So I'm just hoping 2025 brings stability, a lot of health. I also struggled with those kind of issues in the past. I'm hoping just for a healthy 2025 and one that brings me lots of good memories. It doesn't have to be happiness, just lots of good memories," he added.

Tsitsipas' next tournament will be the 2025 Australian Open, where he will be placed between the 9-16 seeds in the singles main draw. The Melbourne Slam is the Greek's most successful Grand Slam tournament. He reached his second-ever Major final Down Under in 2023 and three semifinals in 2019, 2021, and 2022.
