Tennis legend Steffi Graf has announced the launch of her line of pickleball equipment and accessories, following in the footsteps of her husband, Andre Agassi. This new venture comes ahead of her much-anticipated title defense alongside Agassi at the upcoming Pickleball Slam 3. Graf also hilariously claimed that her pickleball paddle is superior to her husband's.
The former World No. 1 has teamed up with JOOLA, a renowned pickleball equipment manufacturer, to develop a line that promises to enhance players' performance on the court. Graf and JOOLA's collaboration follows Agassi's partnership with the company in August 2024, on the 30th anniversary of his first US Open win.
Graf expressed her enthusiasm about the partnership in her Instagram announcement on January 15, 2025, saying:
"I'm really excited for this collaboration with JOOLA. Coming from a different sport, I felt like it gave me just a little more margin. The control that I've gained with this paddle and kind of the touch added a lot to my game."
In a light-hearted moment during the video, Graf was asked who out of her and Agassi has the better pickleball paddle. Without hesitation, she humorously replied:
"Mine, absolutely. Totally mine."
The anticipation for Pickleball Slam 3, scheduled for February 16 at the Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas, is at an all-time high. The event will see Graf and Agassi teaming against Andy Roddick and debutant Eugenie Bouchard.
This isn't the couple's first appearance at the Pickleball Slam; Agassi previously teamed up with Andy Roddick to defeat John McEnroe and Michael Chang in the inaugural Pickleball Slam. In February 2024, Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf joined forces to triumph over McEnroe and Maria Sharapova.
Andre Agassi opens up about Steffi Graf’s shock over his exhaustion after playing pickleball
Andre Agassi revealed his wife Steffi Graf’s initial reaction to seeing him completely drained after playing pickleball.
At the launch of pickleball’s PWR DUPR India League in Mumbai on December 13, 2024, alongside Rohan Bopanna, Agassi admitted that while he recovers quickly from tennis sessions with Graf and friends, pickleball leaves him utterly exhausted.
The American tennis legend described crashing on the couch after games, adding that Graf was surprised by how worn out he looked.
"So I get home and I just lay on the couch," he said. "In the beginning when, Stef, my wife wasn’t playing… she looked at me like, ‘You just played pickleball, what’s the matter with you?’"
"But I promise I am honestly as tired mentally as I am physically. And it was like I just came out of the swimming pool. That’s how much I sweated," he added.
Andre Agassi revealed that he shed an impressive 40 pounds after developing a passion for the sport.
