Nick Kyrgios' girlfriend, Costeen Hatzi, recently made an amusing claim about the Australian tennis star and their beloved pet dog. According to her, their pet has seemingly stolen Kyrgios' affection away from her. Hatzi also shared an endearing picture of the dog with Kyrgios.
Kyrgios has been dating 23-year-old Hatzi since December 2021. Hatzi is a Sydney-based blogger and social media influencer who also runs her own business. Her business, Casa Amor Interiors, focuses on home decor. The influencer is often seen supporting the former World No. 13 at his matches.
Recently, Costeen Hatzi took to social media to share an endearing picture of Nick Kyrgios sleeping alongside their pet dog and humorously remarked that the dog had managed to steal him away from her.
"Stolen my man @k1ngkyrg1os," Hatzi captioned her Instgram story.
The Australian tennis star responded to Hatzi's claim by asserting that it was inevitable because their pet dog is "the cutest."
"Haha she is the cutest," Kyrgios captioned his Instagram story.
A look into Nick Kyrgios' injury plagued 2023 season
Nick Kyrgios has had a severely limited presence on the tennis circuit in 2023, mainly due to persistent injury setbacks that have plagued him throughout the year.
After an outstanding 2022 season, which saw him claim his first-ever Grand Slam doubles championship at the Australian Open, reach the singles final at Wimbledon, and emerge victorious at the ATP 500 Citi Open, the Australian tennis star has only competed in one tournament this year, the Stuttgart Open.
Kyrgios also reached the quarterfinals of the 2022 US Open, which propelled him back into the top 20 rankings for the first time since February 2020 and consequently helped him become Australia's top-ranked player.
In January, Nick Kyrgios underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee, followed by a subsequent injury to a ligament in his wrist. As a result, he was unable to participate in any of the four Majors this year.
Due to the knee injury, he was unable to compete in his home Slam, and subsequently, a foot injury prevented his participation in the French Open. As a result, he had to refrain from participating in any tournaments until June.
The 28-year-old's only appearance came at the Stuttgart Open, where he was eliminated in the first round after a 7-5, 6-3 loss against Wu Yibing. Kyrgios was then forced to withdraw from the Halle Open the following week due to yet another injury setback.
As a result of being inactive on the tour for over four months, Kyrgios has dropped out of the the ATP rankings. However, he has protected ranking of No. 21, which is based on his average ranking position during the initial three months of his injury. This provision will enable him to secure entry into tournaments upon his return.
