America's No. 1 men's tennis player Taylor Fritz on Thursday revealed that he had had a robot deliver food to him for the first time. The American shared a picture of the delivery robot, from the 'Coco' food delivery service, arriving to deliver his order.
Notably, human drivers remotely operate Coco's sidewalk robots to deliver food. Uber Eats has also partnered with the robot start-up to deliver food in select locations. The company initially started deploying its robots in the Southern California region during the COVID-19 pandemic.
"After ordering food for years I finally got my first food delivery," the US Open finalist wrote in a caption to his Instagram stories.
Fritz, at present, is a resident of Rancho Palos Verdes, a coastal city in California. The American had a breakout year in 2024, rising to a career-high ranking of No. 4 after reaching the finals at the US Open and the ATP World Tour Finals in Torino. He lost on both occasions to Jannik Sinner, the ATP World No. 1.
Another highlight for the American came at the Paris Olympics when he partnered with compatriot Tommy Paul to capture bronze in men's doubles. The American also added two more tour-level titles - at the Delray Beach Open and Eastbourne International.
Expert reveals what Taylor Fritz has to do to defeat Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner
Rennae Stubbs, a former World No. 1 doubles player, who had a stint as tennis legend Serena Williams' coach, has stressed that Taylor Fritz must improve his net game and movement if he wishes to beat Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz, the ATP No. 1 and No. 2, respectively.
Two of the American's most heartbreaking losses this year, at the finals at the US Open and the ATP World Tour Finals, came to Sinner who leads the rivalry 4-1. Fritz also came up short in both his meetings with Alcaraz, including a round-robin match at this year's Laver Cup.
"I'm really looking forward to seeing how much Taylor Fritz can just push that extra envelope of improving his net game and his forward momentum. I think he got a taste for it this year. I think he got very close to winning his first Grand Slam," Stubbs recently commented on her podcast.
Meanwhile, Fritz has already committed to playing in the 2025 edition of the Laver Cup which will be held in San Francisco, California.
