Taylor Fritz shared a lighthearted moment Cameron Norrie as he gears up to kick off his 2024 season at the United Cup, scheduled to run from December 29, 2023, to January 7, 2024, in Perth and Sydney.

The United Cup is a unique mixed-gender competition featuring teams from 18 different countries. This tournament made its debut in December 2022 and has quickly become a prominent event in the tennis calendar. The inaugural edition of the tournament was won by Team USA.

The tournament fixtures were unveiled on Monday, and American tennis star Taylor Fritz couldn't contain his enthusiasm. He took to Twitter to express his excitement about the draw that placed the United States, Australia, and Britain in the same group as well as the opportunity to face Cameron Norrie.

“At this point if I didn’t start my year with a Cameron norrie matchup it just wouldn’t feel right,” Taylor Fritz said

Group C will feature the Australian team, led by Alex de Minaur and Ajla Tomljanovic, who have been drawn alongside the defending champions, the United States, represented by Jessica Pegula and Taylor Fritz. Great Britain, with Cameron Norrie and Katie Boulter, is also part of this competitive group.

Group A has been designated for Team Poland, led by the four-time Grand Slam champion Iga Swiatek and ATPs No. 11 Hubert Hurkacz. They will be joined by Team Spain, and a third team, determined based on WTA rankings, will be officially announced in November.

Croatia's Borna Coric and Donna Vekic lead Group F with teams from the Netherlands which will include Tallon Griekspoor and Arantxa Rus and Norway, including World No.8 Casper Ruud.

Team Greece, led by Stefanos Tsitsipas and Maria Sakkari, tops Group B and is scheduled to face Team Canada, making its United Cup debut with Felix Auger-Aliassime and Leylah Fernandez. A third team, determined by ATP rankings, will be confirmed in November.

Three-time Grand Slam champion Angelique Kerber is making a triumphant return to the tennis court after childbirth, and she will be representing Germany alongside Alexander Zverev in Group D. Their competitors in this group include Team France, represented by Adrian Mannarino and Caroline Garcia, and Team Italy, whose representatives are Lorenzo Sonego and Jasmine Paolini.

He secured back-to-back semifinal appearances at the 2023 Delray Beach Open and triumphed over Miomir Kecmanović for his fifth ATP Tour title, moving to world No. 5 in the rankings by February 2023.

He impressed further, reaching the Masters semifinals in Monte Carlo, defeating defending champion Stefanos Tsitsipas, and securing his sixth title at the 2023 Atlanta Open. At the US Open, he reached his first Major quarterfinal but was ultimately defeated by the eventual champion Novak Djokovic who clinched his 24th grand slam.
