Taylor Townsend cuddled with her son Adyn Aubrey Johnson on their bed after the mother and son-duo fell ill. The American also kissed her son on the forehead in the picture.
Townsend enjoyed the best season of her career in 2024, winning her first Major at Wimbledon in the women's doubles alongside Katerina Siniakova. The duo also reached the final of the WTA Finals. Townsend also finished runner-up at the US Open in the mixed doubles alongside Donald Young.
After ending her season at the Billie Jean King Cup Finals, Townsend has been spending family time with her son Adyn. The duo enjoyed some tennis with the American claiming that her son's backhand had the potential of reaching that of Jannik Sinner's level and also watching 'The Lion King' on repeat. However, the mother-son duo's fun time has come to a pause as both have fallen ill.
"Plot twist... me and aj under the weather," she wrote on Instagram.
The 28-year-old welcomed Adyn on March 14, 2021. She returned to tennis in April 2022 and has been playing some of her best tennis since.
She also recently shared a look into her 'exhausting' day of mom duties.
"In terms of balancing everything, it's a new day every day" - Taylor Townsend on balancing motherhood and professional tennis
During her appearance on The Baller Alert Show, Taylor Townsend discussed the differences she faced during her time on the tour as opposed to her time at home.
“In terms of balancing everything, it's a new day every day. It's honestly so hard and then I've realized my biggest struggle is when I leave because I don't travel with my son all the time. So when I leave and I'm on the road and I'm alone I'm fine because I can create my own routine and structure and it's all revolving around me and my schedule, but I really struggle a lot and I'm getting better, but I struggle a lot when I come back home.”
The American spoke about how she would have to cater to Adyn's needs and other home-related stuff during her time away from the tour.
“Because then, you go from everything being about you to everything being about everything else, plus the things that you have to do - practice, workouts, recovery, this that, grocery shopping, Jiu-Jitsu, dogs, house you know. So it's like so many different things that I have to juggle when I come back and it goes from nothing to everything.”
Taylor Townsend shared an adorable video featuring her and Adyn after winning Wimbledon. In the video, which was taken ahead of the European grass swing, Townsend can be heard telling her son that she would return home with a trophy.
