Texas Longhorns and TCU (Texas Christian Univerisity) Horned Frogs have set up an all-Texas final at the 2024 NCAA men's tennis championships. The Longhorns are the second seed whereas the Horned Frogs are the fourth seed.
The Texas Longhorns have been in amazing form throughout the championships beginning their campaign with three 4-0 wins over Sacramento State, UCLA, and Texas A&M in their opening three matches respectively.
They faced seventh-seed Tennesee in the quarterfinals and with the help of their star players Eliot Spizzirri, Micah Braswell, Siem Woldeab, and others, the Longhorns claimed a huge 4-2 win to reach the semifinals. They faced sixth seed Wake Forest, who eliminated third seed and two-time defending champions University of Virginia in the last eight.
The in-form Spizziri, Braswell, and Woldeab stepped up again picking huge wins to win the tie 4-2 and send the Longhorns into the finals.
On the other hand, their opponents TCU Horned Frogs have also been on a rampant run winning their first four rounds 4-0. They started their campaign against UC Irvine and followed it up with a win against Cornell. They faced 13th seed Duke next but ousted them comfortably.
The Horned Frogs went up against fifth-seed Kentucky in the quarterfinals where impressive performances from Jake Fearnley, Jack Pennigton, Sebastian Gorzny, and others helped them sweep the fifth-seed.
In the semifinals, TCU faced their toughest challenge in number one seed Ohio State. But their stars Gornzy, Pennigton, Pedro Vives, and Fearnley all socred big wins to eliminate the top seed 4-2.

The Texas Longhorns will be competing to win their second NCAA Tennis Tournament Championship having won once in 2019 whereas the TCU Horned Frogs will be competing in the final for the first time. Their previous best result was the semifinals which they reached twice - 2015 and 2023.
The two teams butted heads at the Big 12 championships this year where the Longhorns decimated the Horned Frogs 4-0. They also met twice at the ITA National Team Indoor Championship where the first match went TCU's way 4-3 but the other was won by the Longhorns 5-0.
The two teams will compete for the trophy on 19th May at the Michael and Anne Greenwood Tennis Center.
