Serena Williams hosted the 2024 ESPY Awards on Thursday, July 11. The American tennis legend interacted with the audience at the event on multiple occasions. She welcomed the Royal guests Prince Harry and Meghan with some cheeky advice that was loved by fans.
Williams became the fourth female host on the 32nd anniversary of the Awards produced by ESPN. The 42-year-old turned up at the event with her family and wore seven different outfits through it. She even wore a dazzling Armani Prive gown and was styled by Kesha McLeod.
Prince Harry and Meghan were also in attendance at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. Prince Harry was awarded the Pat Tillman Award for Service at the event. The Royal duo, which is usually in the news as media houses tend to keep a tab on all their moves, were provided with some satirical advice by Williams.
"Please, Meghan & Harry, try not to breathe too much tonight, I don’t want to be overshadowed by the accusations that you’re taking up too much oxygen," Williams said.
She managed to get a laugh out of the Royal couple and fans were amused by the advice as well.
"Thank you Serena for doing out and taking the p**s out of the STUPID UK Media daily BS about #HarryandMeghan. They both look YOUNG, good looking and not bothered by the awful trash in the UK," one fan wrote.
"The shade of this speech is so huge it can cover the whole shutter island of the crazies," another said.
"Lmao!! So Hilarious 😂. BP here's your sub mfks," a third fan wrote.

Serena Williams and Meghan Markle have been friends for 10 years
Serena Williams crossed paths with Meghan Markle for the first time in 2010 when they attended the Super Bowl. In 2014, they met again at the Super Bowl and their friendship began. Markle wrote in her blog "The Tig" (via Hello! Magazine):
"We hit it off immediately, taking pictures, laughing through the flag football game we were both playing in, and chatting not about tennis or acting, but about all the good old fashioned girly stuff."
The pair has since shared a wholesome friendship supporting each other throughout. When Williams was pregnant for the first time in 2017, Meghan told Vogue that the tennis legend would become a great mom.
Williams, on the other hand, supported Meghan in her relationship with Prince Harry. Williams even attended their wedding with her husband Alexis Ohanian in 2018 at Windsor Castle.
