Jelena Ostapenko received a shoutout from Lil Wayne after she said she preferred him over Drake. The Latvian went to Drake's concert on the sidelines of the 2024 Miami Open.

Ostapenko appeared on the Tennis Channel and was questioned about her experience at the said concert. She admitted that she enjoyed Lil Wayne's performance more than Drake's, adding that she became Lil Wayne's regular listener.

"I think it was nice but honestly the part of the concert where it was Lil Wayne, I liked way better. I don’t know I felt his vibe and music was so nice. When there was Drake, I was just standing, I was not dancing much, and when Lil Wayne came out, I was like dancing every single song even I didn’t know them. After the concert, I started to listen to a lot of Lil Wayne’s songs," Jelena Ostapenko said.

Lil Wayne thanked the Latvian for her appreciation as he wrote on his Instagram story:

"Thanks for da luv."

The 2017 French Open champion also reposted his story.

Jelena Ostapenko let the fans in on her movie preferences in an interview with Tennis.com. The World No. 13 said that she liked historical documentaries, adding that she watched comedy movies. The Latvian also said that she hated non-realistic genres like fantasy or superhero movies.

“I like historical documentaries. When I want my head to rest, I’ll watch a comedy or a funny movie. I hate fantasy, superhero movies, any non-realistic movie. I really hate those. Obviously, you know that can’t happen in real life, like a huge monster is going to come and attack people!” Ostapenko said.

The 2017 French Open champion stated that The Hangover was her favorite movie as it always made her smile.

“The Hangover is my favorite movie because it’s so funny and you don’t have to think much. You can just enjoy it and you’re always smiling by the end because they’re doing such crazy things!” she said.

Ostapenko would look to make amends at Wimbledon 2024 after a poor showing at the French Open, where she was eliminated in the second round.
