"The emotional abuse we can deal with just fine without your help"- Martina Navratilova slams Donald Trump after he calls himself 'protector' of women

Martina Navratilova recently slammed former US President and the Republican nominee for the 2024 Presidential election, Donald Trump, for his controversial statements. The US presidential elections are scheduled for November 5, 2024.

During an election rally in Pennsylvania, the former President addressed women and said he thought women liked him.

"I always thought women liked me. I never thought I had a problem. But the fake news keeps saying women don’t like me,” Trump said.

He claimed that women were now “less safe,” “much poorer” and “less healthy” as compared to when he was president and added that he was their 'protector'.

“Because I am your protector. I want to be your protector. As president, I have to be your protector. I hope you don’t make too much of it. As president, I have to be your protector,” Trump said.

An X user responded to Trump's statements, stating that women did not need him to protect them.

"Women don’t need Donald Trump to “protect us.”We need to protect ourselves, our kids and our country… from him," the user said.

To this, Navratilova replied that women needed to be left alone as they were capable of protecting themselves.

"Exactly- we women need to be left the heck alone- we can protect ourselves just fine if so many men like you just stop attacking us , most of all physically. The emotional abuse we can deal with just fine without your help, donold….," Navratilova said.

Martina Navratilova sarcastically replied to some fans who were questioning her support for democrat Kamala Harris even though their opinions on allowing trans women in sports differ.

One fan wrote:

"Kamala Harris supports biological males being able to compete in women's sports. Men who just can't compete against other males so they end up beating up on women in sports. Defend that."

Navratilova gave a sharp reply, stating:

"Go ahead and vote for the rapist then."

Another fan questioned the Czech-American for siding with the Democrats even when they allowed trans women to compete in women's sports categories. The fan wrote:

"You realize the person you're agreeing with does not have a definition of the word woman? Her argument does not include protecting biological women from the biological men looking to invade your spaces. These are the people you're agreeing with."

Navratilova replied:

"Body of work."
