Naomi Osaka recently unveiled some of the latest pieces from her fashion collaboration with her longtime sponsor, Nike. In 2019, Osaka switched to the American sports apparel company after not signing an extension to renew her contract with Adidas.

Osaka wrapped up her 2024 tennis season at the China Open, where she made it to the fourth round before being forced to retire from the match due to a lower back injury.

Following the end of her season, the former World No.1 enjoyed some time off the court. During her off-season, she traveled to Japan, celebrated Halloween, played pickleball, and much more. Naomi Osaka, since then, has been back in training and is preparing for the 2025 season.

Recently, Naomi Osaka took to social media to share a video showing off some of the new items from her collaboration with Nike. In the video, Osaka explained that while rummaging through her closet before a practice session, she stumbled upon the new collection and decided to give her fans a sneak peek.

Osaka first displayed a sleek black jacket and some of its unique features.

“Today, before practice I was in my closet and I decided I was gonna show you these wonderful Naomi X Nike collection pieces. Tadaa! There’s a black version. It’s not really black-black more like a light black-grey-black. You get the goods with gold hardware,” Osaka said.

The Japanese then revealed a jacket she described as a kimono and bomber jacket fusion.

“This is a jacket, it’s an absolute slay. The way that it’s a kimono bomber jacket, the other girls could never. And look at the ribbing, just look at it. Are your eyes open ? Are you witnessing what I’m witnessing?” she added .

Naomi Osaka also flaunted a white jacket, mentioning that it is a piece as Nike has discontinued its production and that she is the only one who owns it.

“I think I have the only white one ‘cause they’re not producing it. So maybe if you ask, they’ll make a white one. These are for the autumn girlies that love their sweaters ‘cause I know I do. It’s knit, ribbed, a little see through, it's giving you know, coy. It's crop,” Naomi Osaka said.

Naomi Osaka worked with fashion designer Yoon Ahn to design the day and night Nike kits for her campaign at the 2024 US Open. She sported a vibrant neon green ensemble for daytime matches and a sleek black outfit for evening matches

Osaka and Ahn crafted her playing attire and her walk-on skirts featuring delicate lace frills, and her jackets were adorned with oversized bows in order to enhance her on-court style.

On designing her US Open kit, Osaka said:

“The inspiration that fueled the look for me — and this might be a Japanese term — is feeling like a 'magical girl' on the court. There’s a moment of transformation for me when I walk onto the court, and I have a lot of fun playing, so wanting everyone who sees the outfit to connect with that feeling is a really big motivation for me.” [via Nike]

Looking ahead, Naomi Osaka will begin her 2025 season at the ASB Classic which is scheduled to start from December 30, 2024. This will be the former World No.1's second appearance at the WTA 250 hard court tournament, with her first appearance being seven years, in 2017.
