Denis Shapovalov and girlfriend Mirjam Bjorklund are the embodiments of love and support at the 2023 Miami Open. The tennis power couple have been by each other’s side during their respective matches at the tournament.

Earlier, Denis Shapovalov was seen cheering Mirjam Bjorklund as she made her WTA 1000 main draw debut at the Miami Open. She won her first main draw match against Italy's Jasmine Paolini 4-6, 6-4, 6-4. However, the Swedish tennis player fell short in her round of 64 match against 2017 French Open winner Jelena Ostapenko 6-3, 6-4.

Nevertheless, the couple still have some tennis left in the tournament as Shapovalov has kept his title hopes alive at the Masters 1000 event. The 23-year-old defeated Argentina’s Guido Pella in a hard-fought three-setter 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 to progress to the Round of 32.

To reciprocate the support, Mirjam Bjorklund was present in the stands this time around as the Canadian tennis player contested his first match of the tournament.

“Now it’s time to cheer on her other half. LET’S GO @denis.shapovalov,” their mutual friend wrote on Instagram.

Denis Shapovalov and Mirjam Bjorklund have been together since 2019 and have always made time for each other despite their grueling tennis schedules.

Mirjam Bjorklund recently opened up about her relationship with the former World No. 10 during an interview at the Miami Open. She admitted that it was nice to have her partner support her in the stands at the event.

“Denis can’t be around all the time when I’m playing events, so it’s super nice to have him support me in the box,” she said, adding, “I really trust him when he tells me things and when he coaches me, but he’s very keen on the fact that he’s not my coach.”
“He’s just my boyfriend and supporting [me] in those moments” the Swede said. “So it’s very reassuring when I have him there.”

The 24-year-old also revealed that they always have each other’s back, which proves to be a confidence booster when a significant other is struggling on the court.

“We always find a way to support each other and have a good time and that can definitely help if things are not going the way you want on court,” she said.
