In February, Rafael Nadal gave an interview to La Sexta and revealed the nature of his relationship with long-time rival Roger Federer.

The Spaniard mentioned that they shared most of their careers and helped each other. He added that the competition pushed them both to perform at their best.

"We have shared most of our careers. We have helped each other. We have also taken away a lot. We have achieved a level of self-demand that is difficult to repeat because we knew that we could not fail. That competition pushed us to the limit," he said to La Sexta.

The King of Clay revealed that he and the Swiss legend are cordial with each other but he would not consider him a friend.

"I wouldn't consider him a friend, but someone familiar, with whom I have a great relationship," he added.
