Zverev is set to participate in his third Grand Slam final on Sunday, January 26. He has piled up two agonizingly close attempts earlier, losing in five sets to Dominic Thiem at the 2020 US Open and Carlos Alcaraz at last year's French Open. This time, the German is hoping for some luck to favor him.

The first set was very tightly-contested and the German eventually came out on top via a tiebreaker. Surprisingly, Djokovic retired from the match soon after and Zverev advanced.

During his on-court interview, the 27-year-old expressed hope for some luck to favor him in his third Major final.

"Yeah, I mean, look, Grand Slam finals are always difficult. The two best players in the world are playing on that court. I lost twice in a fifth set, once in a fifth set tiebreaker at the US Open. So, I've had my tough losses. I feel like maybe it's time for me to have some luck in the Grand Slam final as well," Alexander Zverev said.

World No. 1 Jannik Sinner awaits World No. 2 Zverev in the final. Sinner is chasing his second consecutive Australian Open crown and a third Grand Slam title. He got the better of Ben Shelton in straight sets in the semifinal.
