Aryna Sabalenka shared a passionate kiss with her boyfriend Georgios Frangulis to celebrate her first title win of the 2025 season. The World No.1 secured her 18th career title after winning the 2025 Brisbane International.
On Sunday, January 5, 2025, Sabalenka started her 2025 season in style by claiming her second Brisbane International title. The Belarusian tennis star triumphed over Russia’s Polina Kudermetova in a hard-fought final, securing a 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 victory.
In the 2024 season, Sabalenka showcased another impressive run, securing four consecutive wins to reach the final. However, she fell short in the title match against Kazakhstan’s Elena Rybakina, who dominated with a 6-0, 6-3 triumph.
After winning the final in 2025, the 26-year-old celebrated by sharing a romantic kiss with her entrepreneur boyfriend, Frangulis, while proudly holding the trophy in her hands.
The two-time defending champion is now set to compete in the Australian Open in Melbourne from January 12 to January 26, aiming to claim her third consecutive title. The last player to achieve this feat was Martina Hingis, who dominated the tournament from 1997 to 1999.
Aryna Sabalenka looking to implement Brisbane experience in Australian Open 2025
Aryna Sabalenka is eager to apply the lessons from her five days at Brisbane International as a warmup ahead of the 2025 Australian Open.
In a post-match interview, the Belarusian reflected on her preparations for the Melbourne tournament. She shared how winning the trophy in Brisbane gave her a significant confidence boost heading into the Australian Open.
“Yeah, I definitely can take a lot of things from this week heading into the Australia Open. I definitely feel my game pretty well. Mentally, physically I'll be ready to go at the Australia Open.
“Really happy with the way the week went. Yeah, having this trophy going to the major, it's really important,” Aryna Sabalenka said.
Later, she shared her thoughts on Iga Swiatek and how they motivate each other to reach their full potential.
“Well, I love the way we push each other.”
She mentioned that right now, she's more focused on improving her own form rather than worrying about her opponent's Grand Slam count.
“It's not like I'm thinking about her, about her amount of Grand Slams. I'm more focusing on myself, just trying to push myself to the limit and see how far I can get in this sport.”
The Belarusian claimed three major singles titles at the 2023 and 2024 Australian Opens and the 2024 US Open. Meanwhile, the Polish player secured five Grand Slam titles, including four French Opens in 2020, 2022, 2023, and 2024, as well as a US Open title in 2022.
