Ben Shelton came up with a new celebration following his four-set win over Pablo Carreno Busta in the second round of the ongoing Australian Open. Shelton had previously gained notoriety on the tour for his 'dialed in' celebration, which was infamously imitated by Novak Djokovic after their semifinal at the 2023 US Open.

Shelton established a commanding two-set lead over Carreno Busta. However, the American's 6-3, 6-3 lead was later reduced as the Spaniard clinched the third set 7-6(4). Ultimately though, Shelton's firepower, particularly on his trusted serve, was too much for Carreno Busta, with the World No. 20 sealing his progress into the third round of by winning the fourth set 6-4.

After handshakes with Pablo Carreno Busta and the chair umpire, Ben Shelton made a fist with his left hand and held it up, seemingly flaunting his biceps. The 2023 US Open semifinalist also kept bobbing his head as he reveled in roaring applause from the enthusiastic crowd. Watch Shelton's new celebration below:

Shelton, the No. 21 seed in the 2025 Australian Open men's singles draw, is set to lock horns with No. 16 seed Lorenzo Musetti next. Musetti had earlier defeated Denis Shapovalov in the second round. Concerningly for the American, both of his ATP Tour-level clashes against Musetti went the Italian's way.

Celebration-wise, Shelton made a lot of noise at the 2023 US Open with his 'dialed in' gesture following his victories on his run to the maiden Grand Slam semifinal of his career. However, in the semis, eventual champion Novak Djokovic controversially performed the American's celebration after defeating him.

Ben Shelton's 2023 US Open campaign ended with a 3-6, 2-6, 6-7(4) loss to eventual champion Novak Djokovic. However, there was a major flashpoint following the contest's conclusion, as the Serb performed the 'dialed in' celebration at Shelton's expense. Initially, Djokovic stated that he liked the American's celebration and copied it.

However, later, the Serb revealed that he did not take kindly to the American's on-court behavior. According to Djokovic, it was disrespectful from Shelton. Later, the American's father and coach, Bryan, condemned Djokovic and alleged that the Serb had brazenly mocked his son through the copied celebration. The 24-time Grand Slam champion would go on to reignite the feud.

Shelton himself though, refused to get drawn into the controversy, and was lauded by fans for not escalating the matter.
