Carlos Alcaraz defeated Taylor Fritz in emphatic fashion in a nailbiting decider to bring the Laver Cup back to Team Europe. This was followed by immense celebration from the Team Europe members who jumped in joy as the Spaniard let out a huge roar.
This special edition of the Laver Cup marked the end of Bjorn Borg and John McEnroe's rivalry as captains of Team Europe and Team World as they are set to be replaced by Yannick Noah and Andre Agassi starting next year. While the Europeans clinched the first four titles consecutively, Team World bounced back in the last two editions to bring the score to 4-2.
The seventh edition kicked off in Berlin on September 20 with both teams leaving the first day with two points each. However, Team World took a huge 8-4 lead on day 2 courtesy of their ace performers Frances Tiafoe, Ben Shelton, Taylor Fritz, and Alejandro Tabilo.
The final day kicked off with Casper Ruud and Alcaraz defeating Shelton and Tiafoe to reduce the deficit to one point. Next up, Shelton defeated Daniil Medvedev to put Team World one win away from a three-peat.
Things seemed to be headed in the right direction for Team World when Tiafoe was just two games away from winning the Laver Cup. However, home favorite Alexander Zverev staged a marvelous comeback to take the Laver Cup into a decider with the score 10-11 in Team World's favor.
Carlos Alcaraz played Taylor Fritz in the Laver Cup decider and it was the Spaniard, who was in his Laver Cup debut, who defeated the American No. 1 6-2, 7-5 to get Team Europe their fifth Laver Cup. The 21-year-old let out his signature roar after winning the match and was mobbed by his teammates who all jumped in joy while sharing a hug.

Carlos Alcaraz kicked off his Laver Cup career in a doubles match alongside Alexander Zverev. They lost to the American duo of Taylor Fritz and Ben Shelton in straight sets on the opening day.
However, Alcaraz bounced back on Day 2 and avenged his defeat against Ben Shelton with a straight-set win, which was also Team Europe's only win of the day. The two points scored opened the Spaniard's account at the Laver Cup.
On the final day, Alcaraz teamed up with Casper Ruud for the opening match against Frances Tiafoe and Shelton. The Europeans managed to bring a crucial three points for Team Europe.
Finally, Carlos Alcaraz sealed the deal for Team Europe with another three points after defeating Taylor Fritz and winning the Laver Cup for Team Europe.
